Can you feed a pitcher plant meat, I’ve seen pitcher plants consume birds and mice in the wild?

I wouldn’t. It can rot them. Depending on the size and kind of yours it will most likely eat insects. You can get some just looking around your house or backyard, or at a pet store. They don’t really need to be fed and usually catch stuff themself

Nepenthes are the only carnivores with traps large enough for this to happen naturally. And it always rots the pitcher 100%. The digestive liquids in nepenthes aren’t acidic so they’re not designed to break down that complex of prey, and what can get broken down does not do so quickly at all. It smells horrible, will always rot the entire pitcher off, and the plant can’t even use much of the little that does break down. I have seen people leave it when a rat or frog or bird has fallen into a trap and drowned just to see what would happen but the truth is it’s just a very smelly way to sacrifice a pitcher and you’ll be cleaning up nastier animal remains if you leave it. All carnivorous plants can get “burned” by being fed anything they wouldn’t naturally be able to catch in the wild (outside of say, osmocote pellets) like the other comment suggests, I highly encourage you to let your plant a catch it’s own food! It doesn’t need bugs to live and as long as you keep it healthy and it’s not in an enclosed environment it will catch on its own. Omg I’m sorry for the essay I just think this is a question a lot of people might have and wanted to be thorough 😂
