My pitcher plant grows these nubs then they stay like that. Do I cut them all off? Will they grow back? We have rainstorms every afternoon If I put it outside it will get more sun but won’t that be too much water?

    those little nubs are baby pitchers — if they’re not growing beyond that you need to up the humidity

      these are bog plants — so they like to stay moist constantly. don’t bring it outside unless you plan to leave it there. just water it more and mist the baby pitchers everyday until they establish

      Actually pitcher plants are one of the few carnivorous plants that do not grow in bogs :) they’re epiphytic and grow in trees, so they hate sitting in water.

      not sitting but they need to stay damp or the pitchers do what this plant is doing — stall out. this variety might be epiphytic, but they do grow in bogs too :)

      mine is in moss (which it looks like this one is? unless it’s got something else going on underneath?) and the moss stays damp

    Do not cut those nubs they will become pitchers if you are giving them enough light. The tendril will not grow back if removed and you will not get any pitchers that way. I suggest a grow light. What type of water are you watering it with? I’m always available on IG @nepenthomancer to help with any questions anyone may have about nepenthes don’t hesitate to reach out here or there!

      I do spritz the nubs and pitchers. I only use distilled water. I have a cheap grow light from Amazon that days it has 9 dimmable modes and 3 spectrum modes to suit varied stages of plant growth. It has 9 levels of light intensity and has 3 spectral modes (red, blue, and mixed light) to meet different stages of plant-growing needs. Don’t know if is any good or not Thank you

      I do not suggest LED lights for nepenthes. Full spectrum would be best. You don’t need to spritz anything just keep the growing medium damp not wet. Misting can deter pitcher growth.

      So the one I have is ok then right? How close to the plant? How many hours a day? Use both the Red and blue lights? Thank you

    No you have an LED, it won’t be sufficient. Full spectrum is available to purchase online. 10 hours of bright light a day 4 should be full direct light. Or just 10-12 hrs full spectrum. It’s hard to get too much light with artificial. A full spectrum like sansi is available on Amazon and looks like this. It’s got three heads and was like 30$

      Ok thank you. I thought the red/blue lights were full spectrum. Appreciate you helping me learn
