Please someone help I’m new to carnivorous plants and this flu trap started failing on me what do I do!!! I fed her a few pill bugs and a beetle three weeks ago and things went downhill from there

Ezzeldin YaqoubIt is normal and natural for old traps to die and you even have a new trap on the way so it is ok and not dying.

It has lost seven other traps in the past days too, is that still normal?

Are you drowning in direct sunlight light, because they need lots of it. Also don’t feed it too frequently since traps only close a few times before dying off, only feed it once a month since bugs are their fertilizer and don’t use normal fertilizer that will kill it and don’t use tap water that will also kill it. Instead use distilled, reverse osmosis or rain water.

I’m giving it VERY minimal light and I’m only using distilled water but I have no idea what the store I bought it from used

That is bad, it needs a lot of direct sunlight to thrive and live.

Wolfen 🐺It should be in a tray of water. Rain water or Distilled. Tap will kill it. They go into dormancy in the winter. And if you trigger a trap 3+ times it will die. So alternate feeding

Will they still go into dormancy in controlled environments?

Generally yes. They few i have indoors start to go into dormancy. And i move them to a cooler, less light part of the apartment.
