A couple weeks ago I saved my VFT from my grandma who kept in over watering it and feed it dead flys I recently saw a bunch of yellow spots on it and all the plant traps look depressed except for one that about to bloom idk if it because I repotted it or what Iâm just worried that itâs dying pls help
The one that is thriving is not a trap but is a flower. You need to trim the flowers at their base because they are nutrient greedy and the plant will kill itself trying to make the flower bloom. (It is possible to allow the flowers to bloom but if the plant is struggling and has been repotted it is recommended to trim them to promote survival)

0 gillningarIts a flower. Baby traps wonât have as many ânodulesâ on the end, it also wonât grow that tall with such a skinny stalk. A baby trap will have a much wider leaf, and then one trap that unfolds from the end. It will also lay flatter/sprawled like the current traps. Iâd cut the flower as advised by others :) These are also bog/swamp plants that like to stay constantly wet, so its actually pretty hard to overwater them. However, they are extremely sensitive to the TYPE of water used, which could have been your gmas issue.

You can still trim it now and allow the nutrients to start going to the rest of the plant! âșïž As someone else commented, traps come in short with tips that are more flat, while flowers have the tiny little round bulbs on the end. As for soil, it needs to be carnivorous mix or a peat moss mix as regular soil and potting soil will kill carnivorous plants. For watering, these guys like very damp soil so Iâve found that having it sit in an inch of water and refilling as necessary allows them to stay as damp as they desire. And only use distilled or rain water because tap and other water will have to many minerals and will kill your VFT.
