I’ve never owned a pitcher plant before, but when I saw this one at the farmers market I decided I wanted to try. I knew little to nothing about how to care for it, so I did a little research. I plan to buy distilled water, mist it, and place it in sunlight. I still feel a bit lost. Do I need to cut off the dying pitchers? Is the brown ends (3rd photo) new growth or dying?
I don’t think it matters if you cut or keep the dead pitchers what is your heat in your house usually?

sarracenia northwest is a great resource if you want to do more info hunting! the brown tips are not new growth, its most likely a failed pitcher. and yes, trim off any dead/dried pitchers as they come and go :)

If it's half as dry as it is in Denver right now I would keep a humidifier right next to that guy 24/7
