   I am guessing yes. Did the aqua soil come out of an aquarium? Could you possibly get a closer picture?

   The ping was in the fluval when I bought it. Here is a closer picture of the moss.

   Moss can be an issue or a cute companion plant depending on your care preferences. The main issue is that it can push the ping upwards and interfere with its roots. If you want to grow them together, just trim the moss when it gets too close to the ping. That is a very pretty moss species; if you don't want it on the ping, you might pair it with a different plant or give it its own pot (I'm currently keeping some in stone tea light holders)
