Why did all my Venus flytraps heads die I fed it a dead fly it was getting plenty of sunlight I wasn’t leaving it in a dish of distilled water All the traps turned yellow and died what did I do wrong? Also how long will it take for my traps to grow back

Each leaf grows one trap and it’s normal for the trap to die after digesting a fly. The new leaves will grow from the center of the crown and then a trap on the end. It’s vital that the substrate stays wet/moist for its survival. I fill the tray to water and leave it full until it dries then add more water.
