This is my first carnivorous plant, a nepenthes named Vlad. He had lots of dead stems on his leaves when I first got him, but seems to be doing a lot better now and he’s been growing lots of new pots. I did notice that a new plant/shoot (arrow is pointing to one of its leaves) which is trying to grow tiny pots. Should I leave it under Vlad or should I separate it out into its own little pot?
For the moment, I would probably leave it. These are called basal shoots, and similar to the way snake plants or aloe will make ‘pups’, these can be separated and grown into their own plant! However, they take a while to root and I think it may be a littleee bit on the small side. But once it gets a bit bigger, you could totally get another plant out of this!
