So my son just bought me this I assume it's to stay regular Venus It's in a 2-in pot so It's a little guy still that I was sort of reading up on it and it says that I feed it like say a small mealworm every 2 to 4 weeks And only one of the little pods at a time? And only give RO or distilled water?( I wouldn't trust the rainwater these days js🙄🥴) I have it in my 67 to 70% humidity sunroom at 66° with a fan under a 45w grow light.. now I can find it a spot under the 75 w full spectrum whatever grow lights that I have if needed as well any tips or tricks are much appreciated I'd like to not kill it 🙏🤣 since I just got it from the store basically when do I know when it was fed last and when it's hungry again? 😩FEED ME SEYMOUR! Or do I need to throw it in my unheated 40° laundry room for the winter? I'm in Indiana.. It's cold

    I would go to Plants with Krystal for this one, who is also based in Indiana. Venus flytraps are interesting because their natural habitat is the lower east coast of the USA. Like.. swamp land.. They go dormant in the winter and actually can survive outside and live well given you don’t have extreme temperature drops in the winter (like me.. North Dakota is a b****). Anyways you probably don’t have to feed it mealworms but I’d be worried about the fact it just missed it’s whole dormancy period and work through that with Krystal’s page on instagram.

      Yeah that's what I was tripping out on I just threw it in my unheated laundry room in the window there where it's about 40°. I hope it doesn't shock it too much yeah it's much too cold here in Indiana it's definitely cold where you are too I'm in zone 6 It's been in the negatives a lot
