Just got pitcher plant from Zamzows the pitcher plants weren’t doing great any tips

    The nepenthes you have pictured doesn't look very bad at all, but you NEED to get it out of sitting water. Nepenthes will die if you keep them sitting in water for too long. If you have them in the original pots and media still, I would report them with fresh nepenthes mix. If you can't do that, I recommend flushing the media really well with distilled, r.o., or rain water until the water draining out of the pot is less than 50ppm TDS

      Flushing the media is just watering until it starts draining out of the bottom, then continuing watering until what is draining out is close to as pure as the water you're watering with. It flushes out excess minerals and other undesirables that may have built up in the soil

      Overwatering isn’t the amount of water, it’s how often the plant is being watered

      Riley is correct, the amount of water doesn't matter. It's how often you water. The media will be getting saturated with every watering, so keeping watering it frequently keeps it saturated for too long.

    I got mine at the end of June and it looked like yours. Rince all the dirt off with distilled water and I repotted him in sphagnum moss and mist him every morning. Now, a few months later, he has put hers growing more than double the size of the original ones and a little plantlet growing its own pitchers pitchers.

      Don’t have any pots with good drainage can I wait to repot it

      For my initial repot, I put it back in the same pot

      So I just need too take it out and add fresh soil

      I’d take it out, rinse all the soil off it roots (remember, only distilled or rain water) and repot with sphagnum moss. And don’t put the tray of water under it.
