Just got my first Venus fly trap! Any trips and trick I should know?

    brightest light possible, distilled or rain water only, no fertilizer, and don’t let it dry out 👍🏻😎

    Let it thrive outside if acclimated. They need a dormant period if you want to keep them alive longterm.

    Water from below in a tray, if it’s not very bright where you are get a grow light (doesn’t have to be fancy), give it a dormant period of 4 months, upgrade its pot during dormancy, if it’s outside and the traps are pink from sun it should get all the bugs it needs but if it isn’t you can feed it a live bug or dried blood worms once every two weeks to one trap (if using dried blood worms activate the trap with a toothpick then massage the outside after to make sure it closes fully), keep it in a peat-perlite mix, and of course the stuff others already mentioned.
