Hey all! I just picked up 3 species of pitchers. St Gaya, Miranda, and a Black Miracle. From reading all of the posts on here I’m pretty confident I know when I need to remove pitchers and where to remove them from. I’m more concerned about light and repotting at this point. I asked before I left and the girl said these would all be ok for a little. 🤞🏻 very excited to have my first pitchers!
Mine thrives in sphag moss! I have it in a glass orb in moss, I mist it regularly, and use a spray fertilizer from time to time as well. They’re super fun!

They need more light than you would think. They don’t have crazy root systems so don’t worry about reporting yet. The black miracle will need to be kept pretty warm to be happy. Humidity will also be a factor for it, however gaya and Miranda will be much more forgiving and easy going. Don’t fret too much about removing spent pitchers until they’re all the way brown. Put all three in a warm south facing window and keep them moist (but not sitting in water) and they’ll do great.
1 me gusta Misting isn’t always great, sometimes if you most too often it will stunt pitcher growth plus it’s doesn’t actually affect humidity for longer than a few minutes. I suggest a humidifier if where you keep them is under 50% humidity. A cheap hygrometer that also displays temp is a nepenthes keepers best friend.
