I got a Pinguicula Martinezii a little over a month ago. It seems to be healthy and growing well, but the thing is, the leaves are not producing ANY mucilage to trap bugs. Which is the reason I got it…. :( it doesn’t appear to be in a dormancy because the leaves are large and flat like the carnivorous leaves should be. I’ve read on a few sites that it could be a sign of low humidity, so I’ve begun keeping it in a tray of water to improve humidity. But still dry leaves! Any other advice to get produce mucilage and catch some bugs?? I’ve attached a pic. Any bugs you see on the leaves, I have placed there myself in hopes that maybe it would kickstart the process???

it could be in a semi-succulent phase, where it’s preparing for its succulent phase? also, are the leaves actually completely dry? if you touch them and they feel a little greasy, that should be enough to catch bugs. if it really is in a random dry state, maybe it’s the light levels or substrate moisture levels

It’s usually because the light isn’t bright enough. Some people have more luck with them in a terrarium.

If you think you want more humidity, try misting 2-3 times a week. Really helps, my plant caught 2 flies which is a huge improvement from none. (Also, is it getting enough light? Partial sun should be good)
