I saw this video about an indoor plant set up, could someone let me know if this would work for an indoor carnivorous plant set up? Could someone check it out and let me know if it would work?

I saw that same video and made that for my plants! It worked great :) I don’t have any carnivorous plants yet but think it would work well. I also made the larger cabinet that she had a tutorial for.

It would, you just need some strong ass grow lights. The SANSI 36W bulbs work well and are relatively cheap imo

I picked up a (now discontinued) greenhouse from IKEA back in 2021 and used it for my Nepenthes and Tilandsia before jumping into the larger Milsbo setup. It did well for what I needed it to do, but the particular build I had didn’t have a full seal on the bottom and the humidity was always fluctuating. I used a clip grow light that was placed away from the greenhouse so my plants weren’t slow cooking in there like briskets. 1/🧵

It looks like they have a similar build with the redesigned ÅKERBÄR. If I were to revisit the setup I would make some adjustments like weather sealing the door, flex sealing the bottom, and add some silicone caulking on the seams. Mainly, making sure the bottom was water tight and rust proof. My biggest issues were water spots on the glass, high humidity encouraged fungus gnats, and a slight odor. 2/🧵

BUT, 8/10 would recommend for smaller humidity demanding plants. It’s a cute way to display them and they definitely can benefit from a greenhouse. I stopped using my initial greenhouse setup because I transitioned to a MILSBO greenhouse build and my Nepenthes popped tf off that it outgrew all my enclosures. 3/3

Thank you so much! This is very helpful! I do plan on modifying the greenhouse and making sure we have water trays in there

Most carnivorous plants don’t need high humidity to high they don’t like it, fun fact most carnivorous plants come from temperate climates like NY. I’d recommend doing research on each plant you’d like to care for and see what each requirement is needed for plants success. Most basic requirements is their water and lighting.
