Hi! I’ve had my venus fly trap for about 3 months now. I am really concerned because for the past week, I feel like there is something wrong with my plant. Two traps looks underdeveloped and I sometimes see a tiny insect walking on my plant and I’m not sure what it is (I’ve searched about it and I doubt it’s aphids). Now, the traps are unresponsive when the hairs are triggered except for two of them. One, closed slowly and the other closed halfway. I don’t know what to do. I need help please. I don’t want my plant to die. Thank you! I use the tray method and grow light (I give them 14 hours and sometimes more of light)

UNDEVELOPED TRAPS: it might be because the soil is too compacted but other than that this question stumped me. BUGS: if you think it’s gnats spray vanilla anything they hate the smell and works for me. UNRESPONSIVE TRAPS: As the traps get older they will become slower. If you have new leaves coming in I think it will be fine! 😌 FEEDING: Have you fed it recently?

Thank you! For the bugs, I don’t think it’s gnats because it’s very tiny and hard to see unless its walking around the plant. Yes, I’ve fed them two weeks ago and I made a mistake of feeding multiple traps at a time, which now I realize might be the reason its responding slow. 😅
