Got this fly trap from a store a month or two ago, decided to try and save it as it wasn’t doing well. Cut off the dead traps, full sun and good distilled water, and when the traps became healthy enough to close again I gave it two spiders I found. Thought it had been improving but now it’s getting brown/dead spots again and the traps don’t respond when I move a dead bug around in them to feed it. Any advice as to why? Wondering if I should just cut all the traps at this point and solely focus on new growth from it

For the water, are u letting sit in an about an inch of water? I use a plant saucer and water from the bottom.

Also, don’t feed them too often. They’re using energy to eat. Soooo when it clamps down a few times, that trap will die off. Here’s mine!

the bugs aren’t supposed to be dead when you feed them. they have to be alive to trigger a response
