•Just got an Venus flytrap, I believe it’s the werewolf variant if my id is correct. •Believe it or not he was the healthiest of the few there. •Can I have some tips and advice how to get him back in the swing of things? •Also it says not to use fertilizer on it, but I water using a naturally fertilized water from my aquariums I keep. Is this ok or??? Ik I have heard use r/o or rainwater but I don’t have r/o and idk how much rain water is in my barrel that my family uses on the outdoor plants.

    What should I do with the dead heads trim them? And the dilution of ppm of stuff is minimal I just use it for some added nutrients from fish and plant waste

      I would definitely cut the dead traps. Get a sterile pair of sharp scissors or garden shears and cut as close to the base of the plant as you can. Each trap will only live for a few months or after they open/close enough times (it takes a lot of energy to seal the traps), so it’s normal to lose some traps every now and then. I buy a gallon of distilled water from the store and use that to water my traps! I also keep mine underneath a grow light for 8 hours! It’s surrounded by other plants which increases humidity and I keep a little pebble tray underneath as well. I hope this is helpful!

      I ran out of pure distilled water so I just ran out back to my rain barrel and grabbed a bottle full, as far as trimming I’ve heard that keeping dead traps can be good? That it provides some energy transference and nutrients. What have you heard about that any experience on it?

      Ahh ok thank you 2-3 traps are completely dead ones still dyin off

    You can also use distilled water! Never fertilize any carnivorous plants, it will kill it almost instantly!

      Is there a bounce back cus I saw how dry and grabbed my fishtank water mister and misted my plant real quick at the time I didn’t know how bad it was and figured it could use the added since it was not looking to perky
