“Richard Dumpling” (My 7 and 5 year old wildlings each picked a name 😅) seems to be thriving after week 3. I have been bottom watering and the water is gone in a few days; should I continuous replenish the water or wait a couple days in between?
So I follow the watering schedule that Planta gives and this is mine. It just got out of dormancy, so the heads are growing back slowly but surely. I have 2 flower stalks (1 for sure, I’m not sure about the other one). I just ignore the misting schedule.
It’s best to keep them sitting in a shallow dish of water. They do not want to dry out not even a little. Little dish of water, strongest light you can get them under.

This is not always true. Yes they should always be damp but they shouldn’t always be sitting in water they can be overwatered just like any plant I recommend using Planta water schedule and if it gets dry in between add an extra water in there. Thy live on boggy ground but not in swamp water.

I like to let mine dry in between watering no longer then a day or two, I use rainwater to water mine as normal water is to mineral rich and chloromide rich r/o water and distilled work fine but rain water is preferred I bottom water get a plastic not ceramic or terra-cotta dish some ceramics are safe but generally non plastic pots leech minerals which can harm this plant, but fill with the water about an 1/5 of the pots hight the dish should be about 2-3 inches bigger then the pot itself
0개 좋아요 I have yet to experiment with other methods of bottom watering plant pots so that’s why I said the 2-3 inches as the smallest deep saucer usually is good for an singular plant
