Hi guys, I just bought my first VFT and was wondering if y’all could spare some tips to help take care of it! Like food options, light, cutting dead leaves, etc. anything! 💚 also what does ‘dormant’ mean??

      This got too cold, or not enough light. Get it in bright bright light and it might come back. Don’t let it dry out. Keep it sitting in a little bit of water if you need to.

    Take it out of the plastic, place it in as high of light as you can get, and don’t worry about feeding. Just high high light and never let it dry out.

    Plus in 70-75 temps

    Use soil made specifically for carnivorous plants. Avoid anything with word Miracle Grow on the label. You want the poorest soil out there! Never force it to eat. They expend a lot of energy to close the trap you can damage or even kill it. Never feed anything that isn’t a bug. Water with only distilled water. Keep in a bowl of water for bottom feeding.
