Is there anything I’m lacking with this guy? I have him sitting in a tray with distilled water, substrates is nice and moist, it has its own grow light directly on it, looks like it’s growing a flower and other new traps. The reason I ask, I’ve had it about a month now and it does not eat. The hairs on all of the traps don’t trigger at all. When I first got it, it did get triggered once. I have cut off a couple of black traps which I’ve been told are dead guys. Could use some advice. I bought this guy and a nepenthes as my first carnivorous plants and i wanna make sure I can at least try to get it right 😬

    I thiiiink traps need to have more than one of the trigger hairs touched in quick succession in order to close. I think I heard that in The Green Planet doc?? Your conditions all sound ideal though - poor nutrient medium (sphag moss), pure water, plenty of light. So I say just keep doing what you’re doing!

      Yes, I have tried live bugs and I’ve tried triggering multiples and simulating movement as well and they wont close. 🤔 Thank you for your response!

    If the traps aren’t closing then it probably needs more light, you mentioned you have a grow light for it, so you probably just need to have it on for longer. Here’s the website I used when figuring out my own grow light setup: //curiousplant.com/light-carnivorous-plants-part-2/
