New to the group and semi new to plants, but I love them. Here are my 1st 3. Hope they do well. Suggestions are certainly welcome.

    I love carnivorous plants! I don’t have them anymore but as a kid I had a sundew and a few venus flytraps! They survived the winter on egg whites indoors and I moved them outside in the spring and part of the summer! Really interesting and awesome plants! Good luck with all of them, they look great!

    You will love them!! I have several with the flytrap and pings being my favs! It’s so fun to watch them grow and catch their prey.

    They look so good. I originally gave my pitcher plants the same care as a flytrap and burned off all the pitchers, so now they’re recovering. I’m jealous of yours!

    I love my carnivorous plants! Advise for nepenthes I’ve acquired from knowledgeable people that’s helped me plus a picture of my plants prey: 1 they don’t like to sit in water like the others 2 osmocote fertilizer pellets in a pitcher every few weeks if they don’t get a lot of bugs 3 bright light 4 use rain water or put aquatic water conditioner in the tap water (that goes for all carnivorous plants) 5 fill pitchers up to 1/4 of the pitcher with water if they get low to keep them from drying up Hope you enjoy these awesome plants!

      Ah see you’re getting a bit of burn. Might I suggest nurtricote if you’re going to go the route of using fertilizer in the pitchers, it’s much safer and has better results I can send you the study we did.

      I usually just let them eat the gnats the pellets are just if they don’t catch anything. The burn is from when I accidentally let it get too dry.

      If you water down the enzymes in the pitcher they can’t digest properly so using a humidifier will help more 😊 just my 2 cents

    Nepenthes can’t be treated like the other bog plants they want to stay moist not soaked. It would be best to not keep the nepenthes sitting in water. They definitely need a lot more light than you would think. Don’t add water to the pitchers unless they are empty if the humidity is too low for them to stay full on their own then they will inevitably stop pitchering altogether and you’ll need to increase the humidity somehow. Osmocote can burn the pitchers especially young ones I wouldn’t suggest worrying about feeding them until you’re positive they’re getting enough light. Very important to only use water with TDS less than 70 and ph 5.5-5.8. Rainwater or reverse osmosis is best. If you have any questions or want help with anything nepenthes related don’t be afraid to reach out @nepenthomancer on IG, or nurse.nepenthes. Most of all make sure they’re not sitting in the water-they can root rot but also don’t let them dry out. They’re a bit finicky haha.

    The sundew likes less humidity and light. Flytraps can’t get enough sun ☀ and nepenthes needs bright light and high humidity 😊 I love them too 😍

    Also, only use one pellet in the oldest pitcher and Betta fish food is good too but even with them inside you’ll be surprised how many gnats and mosquitoes they can get. They don’t need pitchers to survive, they need humidity around 70% and enough light 💡. I use sansi 24 wats 5000k bulbs and they are perfect 👍 And please don’t use any human food products! It will kill them 😭
