Recently got a Venus fly trap I’ve been wanting one for years. I read something saying that if a flower grows you should cut it asap as it uses up light and energy but I also read another thing that said if it’s about to bloom it’s already used up so much and that if it seems healthy may as well take the risk. - anyone experienced this have any opinions or advice, I don’t want him to die but also don’t particularly want to cut it….
As long as your plant is healthy and thriving then it can survive a flower. BUT I’m also new to them and have read that flowering is only recommended for seasoned owners and also that it works out best for outdoor ones. Your guy looks really healthy though so I would say you should be fine with this one but again, I’m no expert! Good luck 😊

My two Venus recently bloomed and I keep them outside. Only one of them has started to die off at the leaves but I’m still seeing new growth, so once it’s fully stopped blooming I’ll cut off the stem and I honestly feel like it will bounce back

I had a fly trap last year and it did amazing! It grew a tall white flower and I was concerned it was going to kill it if I kept the flower there. I cut it off and killed my trap within weeks 🥺 it was my favorite plant. I just got a new one this week to try again 🤞🏼 not cutting that girl again!
