What is the best way to change the acidity of the soil my hydrangea plant is in? We bought it and it was yellow and blue and now it's red and purple, which is pretty but just not the colors I wanted lol. Any advice would be appreciated.

1st: Opinions on bottom watering? 2nd: When bottom watering, (specifically when fertilizing) do you keep the same water and add or drain after each plant?
Goodevening planta community, Here’s an update because the last pictures were blurry. If anyone could give me tips and tricks for taking care of these beautiful clone flowers. I have a LED, fan on them from already 4 days now counting today, ive recently put them outside for full direct sunlight as it clouded up for less than 20 minutes. How do you think they are looking? These are In Home Genetics that are propagated. Is my setup good enough ? How often should I water, should the soil be moist or dry . How do I know it’s too much water? 👍🏻❤️
POV : Decided to plant queen palm tree also known as syagrus romazoffiana or jeriva . It’s native to South America , and it was introduced throughout as an ornamental tree. They may reach up to 60 ft tall . I’m just about to hunt for 5 more and put them in a straight line.
Propagate, Noob edition, Cut, plant and pray 🖼️🐥🥲
So I sat my monstera out to let the water drain, and forgot about it for a few hours… 😬 It got incredibly sunburned, is there any hope for it? Any tips or tricks?
Hi guys. My new fiddle leaf is coming out with spots on it any idea what it is! 🤍🪴
Hi plant folks! Any idea what kind of plant this is? I’m not getting an exact name for it on here. Thanks! Kinda reminded me of a Fittonia but I don’t think it is.
So we’re on a weekend getaway & just finished dinner- When the owner of the restaurant noticed me admiring their giant Polka Dot Begonia & offered me a cutting… Which of course I accepted! 😊 He stated it’s been in family for over 100 years!!!! (I didn’t get a photo of the parent Polka Dot- I was so excited that he offered me a cutting!!!)
Does anyone know what kind’ve plant this is or how to propagate it?
Hello. A newbie here! We recently moved into a new house and the side yard has a vine of Lavender star flowers. It was overgrown and no flowers at all. I trimmed it during this summer. Started watering it regularly. It has lot of fresh growth and very very few flowers now (about 3!). How do I make it flower more? It is planted in partial shade where it gets late afternoon sun. Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thanks in advance.
In order to keep me from going crazy over watering plants, I have tried watering spikes, stakes, glass globes, and these refillable plastic globes by Domenzi; the ones by Domenzi, are, by far, my favorite! My question to all of you out there who use these self watering devices, have you checked to see HOW WET THE SOIL REMAINS? I’m using these globes for plants that are tropical, or those that Planta says have medium moisture needs; but, what is moist? Using a hydrometer, I’m finding water levels extremely high, sometimes in the upper 50s and 60s%s. I’m concerned about root rot, with moisture levels that stay this high. I know many of you use these self watering devices; do you check the levels of soil moisture, and have you noticed any problems with plants being too wet, and suffering the consequences of such? CALL ME NERVOUS about using these self watering globes! TIA for your responses, 😬💚🪴!
Here we have my Sedum🌱 If you flick through the photos on the attached plant you’ll see she hasn’t really had any new growth since I got her about 3 months ago… Recently however I noticed this, new growth! But coming from the bottom where leaves are already formed instead of growing new leaves at the top? Is this normal? Either way, new growth is new growth, so I can’t complain🤣🥹
What is the best fertilizer for a moon cactus? i’ve seen npk 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 but are there any trusted brands?
Hi there! I am a Newby to plants and trying to learn how not to kill some that have a reputation for being “easy.” I bought a luscious Boston Fern from my local Lowe’s over the summer, and it started to look not right after a bit. It was losing a lot of its green, with exposed woody bare stalks. After some investigation I figured it was extremely “root-bound” and proceeded to separate it into 2 pots. It was kinda difficult as the plant was so big and the root ball so dense, but today I decided to just snip all the long strands that were bare at the base. As you can see from the photo of the pruned plant it is getting some new growth- but this is only half of the original plant (in the original pot, imagine how locked-in the whole root ball was!) and it still looks pretty dense in the new pot. Do you think I need to separate it further? Anyone with experience in Boston Ferns? Thank you:)
…and this one? Name that plant. LOL
What is this plant?
My hubby bought me a few plants today! I am so excited! Any advice?
My first Hoya. Any tips for this new Hoya planty I picked up at Home Depot? I’ve sprayed it down with insecticidal soap, it was bone dry so i saturated it. I plan to repot it in Molly’s mix once it’s acclimated. All suggestions and tips are appreciated! 💚
What type of perlite do you use? I have just been buying the bags from the garden center with the small perlite. I have read that chunky perlite is better. Any opinions?
