So, I bought this live basil plant from the grocery store. It said it was hydroponic - which I know Means it was somehow grown in the water but I know little more than that. So when I brought it home, I initially stuck it in water, cause I thought that's what I was supposed to do. I noticed it drank the water up super quickly, so I put more water in the little dish it was sitting in. Anyways, it wasn't happy. It was also in indirect sunlight in my kitchen. So I took it out of water, and started just watering it normally. And by that I mean letting it dry out cause the top soil was moist and I didn't want the roots to rot. I also moved it to the only spot in my apartment that kids bright light for a few hours a day. (It also gets several hours of indirect light). Does it just need a few days to recover? Should I water it? The top layer of soil is dry.

Hoya help needed! Moved this wall planter to a space with a bit more light and I’ve noticed some more yellowing than usual. đŸ„Č Not sure what it is, watering has been regular, assuring the soil dries out beforehand. Maybe it’s just adjusting and I’m paranoid, but any tips/ideas would be appreciated!

This ivy used to be very full but I had to cut off some of the lower leaves since they got demolished by spider mites! I know it’s a vining plant but it looks a little leggy to me. Would y’all prune it or let it be?

Hello! Could someone ID this plant for me? After killing my first plant 7 years ago, I decided enough time had passed and I watched enough youtube videos to try again. I got three plants last week and one of them I thought was a zz plant. It was in a plastic planter with only some kind of moss(I think? It was super light and fluffy on the top and was so heavy with water in the rest of the pot) I didn’t think the plant would survive so I replanted it in a succulent/cacti soil mix. The plant wasn’t labeled at the store so I don’t know exactly what it is and it didn’t have rhizomes or anything similar looking when I looked at it while repotting. Just roots. Do certain types of zz plants not have rhizomes? Or is this something totally different? Could someone please tell me what this plant is so I can google how to care for it? I really don’t want them to die this time 😱

This one’s gonna be popping out any day now! I think it’s pretty cool how you can see the leaf inside the sheath. The latest leaf before this one is the tallest & biggest so I’m excited to see how this one looks!

My question today is a bit heavier then usual. To all my people who struggle with mental health how do you cope with maintaining your plant tasks and how do you manage to treat and recover both yourself and neglected plants. I’ve had a rough few spots lately and as a result I’m experiencing what feels like a plague affecting everything under my care. I’m super overwhelmed and I’m just wondering how you cope with these experiences and the feelings associated with your plants failing in some ways. It feels strange because usually I’m able to be the one to offer plant advice to those in need but it’s hard when the shoe is on the other foot. Any advice or just any ideas on what I could do to help with anything is welcome I just need some advice on what I should do. Thank you in advance.
