This is my first attempt to grow vertical, I started it last December 27, extended the pole 17 days ago and it’s already at the top. I’m hoping to get it chopped and extended next week. I was inspired by Sydney the Plant Guy on YouTube 😁 I am curious to know what size pot you would use either a 6” or 8” ? It’s currently in a 4.5” tall take out container I received from the Chinese restaurant. It’s been doing great but the plant guy recommended an 8” container. I ordered two pots one 6” and one 8”. The pole is 48” tall and rests against the wall because it is too top heavy. I appreciate any suggestions 😁

Hello recently got this angel wing Bagonia how does it look? Haven’t had this one prior to this one. I am thinking I will repot it in a chunky soil but other than that any care tips? Thanks in advance.

Hi! So I was so worried about getting potting soil and found a really chunky mix my local nursery uses, you just need to add perlite. Looking for some cheap soil alternatives that aren’t Miracle Grow

I did some reading on fungus gnats and saw several posts that said not to use sphagnum moss on your plants. I make up my own tropical soil mix and use sphagnum moss in it. Is sphagnum moss a good additive in making up your own soil medium? TIA. 😊💚đŸȘŽ

I started gardening some lemon seeds in mid-June. I just checked my plants soil and find these little wiggly bugs in the soil. I did a quick google search and it says they are called Garden Symphylan. Are they harmful to my plants? How do I get rid of them? Can anyone help me?

Hi everyone! I just bought an aglaonema from the grocery store and the plant seems to be doing well but the soil situation is sketchy. Do you all have a preferred soil mix for aglaonemas?

Hey there! I have a couple root related questions. My orchid(first picture) seems to have lots of healthy leaves (I have had her for about a year) but she hasn’t gained super stable roots into her pot, I think the pot is very deep. Every time a root comes to the surface it doesn’t look healthy either. For my snake plant I’m wondering if it’s root bound and I should repot or if he is doing fine and I don’t need go change anything. Thanks in advance!

Y’all! I think I found a mealy bug creeping around my philodendron! It wasn’t ON it but near enough. It had spider mites in late spring. I’m wondering if the extreme heat is making it more susceptible to pests
Should I bring it inside for a while? The a/c runs all day, as it is 96o in the shade around here. Obviously not under a vent and I should mention I don’t have great lighting in my house at all. Any suggestions? EDIT: I just found this praying mantis in there. That’s probably a good thing, right? Will they eat mealy bugs?

Watering question
I have an indoor money tree and was wondering do I check the top 2 inches of soil to determine if it needs water or go off moisture meter that is down by the roots?

Strawberry shake question..Planta says “normal” humidity. Other sources say “high” humidity..in your experience which is correct??

Is this normal for a zz? Little background: I saved it from Walmart. It had been overwatered and started to spot. Thanks in advance!

Made my first moss poles but waiting for the back of the moss pole to come in to modify and helps hold moisture to moss pole thinking of running string through upper middle of moss pole to wick the water through the poleđŸ’đŸ€”
