I am having difficulty understanding BOTTOM WATTERING. What is the difference between sitting a plant in water so that it sips water through the hole in the bottom of its pot or using TERRACOTTA SELF WATERING SPIKES or PLANT WATERING GLOBES to water your plants? It seems like both methods would accomplish the same thing, that is to keep your plant watered. I’ve been using the old-fashioned method of just pouring water into the top of the soil to water my plants, but I’m looking for an easier way to water. I would definitely appreciate some insight on this as I am very confused about these two methods of watering. My primary concern: will the use of the bottom watering method cause my plants to remain too wet in comparison to the other two methods I spoke of? TIA for any comments. Regards, 🤗💚🪴

Just wanted to laugh at how dramatic this Coleus is 😂 I water it daily or every other day because it’s thirsty and in a terracotta pot and I was a whole 12 hours late watering it so it wilted like it was the end of the world 🙄 I watered it and by the next morning it was fine lol

Hey plant family, I need some advice. I got this ZZ plant a few months ago, since then its grown four new shoots and it has a new one coming out soon from the soil. Its currently in a 6 inch pot, is it time to repot or no? Thanks in advance!

Can someone explain or show the difference between the white princess philodendron and the white wizard philodendron? I recently got a philodendron with white into it at Home Depot and I don’t know which one it is? :)

Guys I almost gave up on her. I fell in love when I laid my eyes on her so I had to get her. I was/am a new plant mom and at the time I didn’t realize “Calatheas” were more difficult to keep alive. So yes it slowly started getting the famous brown edges and eventually I had to cut her down. Well look, she is starting to come around. I’m so proud of how far I have come as a plant mom. I started planting when I lost my brother so my planting time is a very special time for me. Thank you to planta and everyone on here for making me better at GROWING!🤍🪴🪽

Hey there. Today I repotted my Monstera adansonii, the roots was growing out of the nursery pot at the bottom and top as well as every week a leaf was turning yellow. I bought Kellogg organic potting mix because I know a lot of people don’t recommend MiracleGro and that was the only other option at the store. Should I have added something else to the soil besides the dirt? Also a leaf is already yellow should I leave it or take it out Thanks In Advance Everyone 🫶🏽

Hi there! My aloe has been losing a bottom leaf every few weeks. I thought maybe I was overwatering so I slowed down (also bought a hygrometer). Today I’m noticing one more leaf is about to fall off & is loose. It is dark at the base. Anyone know what is causing this? Otherwise it looks plump & healthy.

My sunflowers are anywhere between one to 2 1/2 months old and some of them seem to be dying, but then I read somewhere. I should be watering them 2 to 3 days a week and I was doing them every day. There’s some below if anybody could give me some guidance if I should water them or not water them or any advice that would be amazing. The leaves are always discoloring

I have a living room with a wall to wall window, should I be worried about distance still from that window? The room is very bright but the app says that those at the other side of the room 3m+ may not be getting enough sunlight?

BOTTOM WATERING, I need some help! I’ve just started watering like this and yesterday when I checked these plants soil moisture levels, I found that a couple of my plants registered in the mid 50% to a high level of 59%! That really worried me! I don’t usually water my moisture loving plants until they reach at least a mid 30% or lower level of moisture. Do some of these moisture loving plants like to stay at these high levels? I am so worried I am going to kill them with this time saving watering method. Any opinions? TIA for any help! 🤗💚🪴 PS. I have included two pictures of my small plants in plastic trays that are drinking water and additives and a picture of a large plant in a decorative pot that is drinking water from the pot itself. Just a few examples of the many plants for which I am using this method.
