Any general tips about repotting?

Malinda

I have this Dubia here that I have been considering cutting back . I let it go a little longer than I should have with an extension . My questions are is this normal ? Will the leaves fill in or did I mess it up by waiting to extend ? I was also considering a small clip either way since it’s already past the top of the pole & I don’t think I want it any taller than it is . Thanks!

Does this look like pest damage? I can’t for the life of me figure out/see what is causing this. Thrips maybe? I just want a second opinion before I start panicking lol

I just got this beauty for $65! It has 12 plants in it. After I give it some time to get over the shock of coming home with me…..do you think I should start separating the plants, or can I leave it as-is? I really want to start doing dish gardens and would love to keep it as-is, but is it already maxing out the pot? Thanks! =)

Hey, both of these got exposed to fungi today, any tips on how to prevent them getting sick? And how long should I wait to put them with my other plants?

Two newbies! I’m also looking for a Rhipsalis Baccifera for a trailing plant I’ve fallen in love with. Show me yours if you’ve got one!!!

**soil and repotting question** I repotted most of my plants already this year, but the soil I’ve used is mostly hydrophobic and compacted. I use terra cotta pots pretty much exclusively, so I’d like the plants to be able to easily absorb more water. Should I give them a new, chunkier soil mix, even though they’ve all been repotted this season? Or wait it out and hope for the best? Thanks for any advice or insight you can provide! Morgan

Has anyone used rooting hormone powder for water propagation or is it used only for soil? Any tips are appreciated!

Soooo question?! Most of my babies have been indoors and we just moved to Florida from nd and have a yard now. so I’m wondering how does one get them ready to be outdoor plants. They have all been indoors and thriving since I got them other then the few that are outside due to a bad online order (don’t buy from succulents and co. They ghost you after sending you plants that are decapitated) We are currently staying with my mom and she is also a plant lady. So a lot of her front porch is taken but I’m considering getting myself a green house but I don’t want to shock them by the heat.

Hi everyone, I keep having chipmunks get into my outdoor plants in my patio. Recently I had two pots broken and one plant on the ground. Any advice or tips on how to address the issue? Thank you!

Plants delivered can look a bit wilted like the Hoya Multiflora (Shooting Star). The Hoya Rigida arrived looking very good with a lot of unexpected tendrils! They were delivered with an almost dry potting mix which I prefer for hoyas. Plants that are watered right before shipping tend to arrive with some root rot and yellowing leaves while smelling like dirty socks. 😁 These looked much better a few days after watering. Both were $25 each on sale (plus tax/shipping) from GonzosFamilyGreenery (OfferUp) in San Diego. Both are in 6” hanging pots. This small business uses recycled boxes for shipping. It works for me since the prices are lower than many online stores!

Can anyone tell me what Houseplants like to move outdoors in summer? Is there a good place to find this out? I live in zone 6b with a fairly short season for gardening. But, after moving all my herbs out to the deck, I’d love to move more (like my umbrella trees).
