Four of my plants have thrips. Including both of my Deliciosas. I’ve isolated them but they were surrounded by several other plants, and my baby, Bella, my Jade Pothos, was nearby so I’m checking her diligently but I’m dreading finding one on her! 😫 I’ve heard neem doesn’t work on thrips. Does anyone have success getting rid of thrips completely? Do I need to chop every infested leaf or can they come back from it? Basically I’m going to blast them with water every day to get any newly hatched nasties off, and hopefully they won’t have a chance to lay any new eggs. Any other advice? Picture of my beautiful Bella for attraction.
The app is telling me to trim back 30% on my Coleus Oxford Street! It was the size of my hand when I got it early summer. I have brought it inside since it’s been getting cold at night (I’m in MO) and it is still growing like crazy!! As you can see, there are a few dull leaves, but most are bright and happy. What are the benefits of cutting it back? Can I prop them? How? Will it hurt it to let it keep getting bigger?
Will a Salt lamp harm my Colloncho on the same Bedside Table?
Does anyone know what kind of plant this is. The plant checker is trying to say it’s satin pathos but it isn’t.
Love to come look at my plants in the AM. The lighting 👌🏻👌🏻
All grow lights off, just the decorative LES strips!
Anyone know why my silver pothos has these on almost every leaf
I’m having some issues understanding what a stake should look like when I’m using it to measure moisture in my plants that prefer to dry out before they get watered. My moisture meter showed that my philodendron was 34% moist, and normally I wouldn’t consider that a plant, with that moisture percentage, should be watered. However, I sent a picture of what the stake looked like after I checked the plant with it. There’s lots of little tiny crumbs, but not a lot of dirt on it. I think it would be really helpful, if some of you experienced Planta members, would show some of us less experienced individuals, what stakes should look like when a plant is not ready to be watered, and a picture of a stake when a plant is ready to be watered. Anybody game? TIA. 🤗💚
Does this mean I can plant that little bulb that fell off?
Hey friends guess what I found a Hoya krimson princess on clearance at Lowe’s for $7 and then like 10 minutes later, I found a huge philodendron pink princess on clearance at meijers for $10! I’ve been wanting both of these for the longest time! Did I just have the luckiest day ever? Yes. Am I taking this as a sign from the universe that I, too, am a princess? Also yes. 🪴👑
Where in the application can you buy plants?
Does Venus Fly Trap have to have pink traps in order to close?
Hi everyone, ignoring the VERY COOL halloween decorations, ( i am very compulsive ) this is the only sunlight i get in my room, i have been cursed with a house where the sun is behind me, and i only get little light coming through this window for my plants, do you have any tips on how to have more plants with little sunlight? i am aware you can get the lights however i fear they might be too expensive. Are there any plants that don’t really need sunlight? or any cheap growing lights or alternatives? I want more babies!!! I have 8 at the minute and they are even struggling for their fair share 😖
Going dormant or should I be freaking out?
Loving all the blooms on my trailing velvet! 🌸
Has anyone ever used banana peel water or coffee grounds on their plants? What are your thoughts?
Hey y’all! I’ve got a question I think only a group of >40,000 people can answer! I’ve been doing research and none has been conclusive, I cant find if ONLY the Mimosa Pudica is touch-sensitive, or better phrased, if any other plants in the Mimosa genus will close when touched, I ask this because where I live (and I’ve also see in florida, the caribbean, and mexico) there is a tree that grows really tall and has Mimosa-like leaves but no research on it’s sensitivity to touch is available! I guess what I want to know is the touch sensitivity among plants in the Mimosa genus and if the plant I am thinking of even is Mimosa? I ask this because recently I took a seed pod and germinated successfully and the sprouts look EXACTLY like a Pidica’s emerging set of leaves, could anyone help???
Ya'll I think my parents and boyfriend is getting tired of all my plants... I am 15 and I take care of a total of 39 plants (I need another one to make it even lol) and none of my parents nor boyfriend are plant people. I'll go on a plant rant and they don't understand what I'm talking about.... or I'll show them a plant I find cute and they don't understand lol... I hope they understand that my plant collection is only getting bigger... especially since all my plants propagate and I love to prop my little baby's lol
Check it out!!! Buying more lights soon so don’t get on me about that!
