My kind of pest control
Any tips for new plant keepers
Bought my first Anthurium (Crystallinum) in Dec. The minute after clicking BUY I realized the folly of purchasing a tropical plant -by mail-in the dead of winter. She arrived looking rough, despite adding a heat pack. She only got worse from there. After about a month I realized I could kill her stem by stem or try cutting her back & putting stems in moss/perlite prop boxes & hope for the best. Well, it worked. These are not even all the stems that are thriving. I have another one in soil & 2 small plastic containers with multiple stems showing growth. Moral of the story, moss/perlite prop boxes save lives. 🙌🏼 PS: These are in chunky soil with 50% perlite/moss in a self watering pot in my "greenhouse" (plastic display boxes) in a south facing window.
My jade has been in this pot since 7/25/24 and has grown well. It recently started sprouting roots near the bottom. Does this mean I should repot? Should I repots and take off the bottom leave to pot lower in a pot? Do the aerial roots mean something else?
I tried planting my rose today! This is new experiment, we shall we how it goes! Any tips, please share! 🌹
Happy International Day of Plant Health!! If Dr. Planta, one of our plant experts, or the community helped heal your plant we want to hear about it! 💚 Comment with your pics or story! 😁
Has anyone used the We The Wild hydro pellets successfully? I’m trying to prop a cutting (my first!) and it seems like it makes the water really scummy really fast. It says on the packaging to replace the water every 2-3 weeks but I had to replace mine after four days because the water got so brown and nasty. Should I just invest in Prop Drops or stay the course?
Does anyone know why my wandering Jew plant lost all its green color? I did forget to wader it for a couple months.
Flowering dieffenbachia after five years! I’ve had this buddy for a while and it is back and happier than ever. I didn’t realize this guy could flower. So cute!
I feel complete I’m a beginner and I got my hands on a Monstera! LOL
How do I add a plant of the same name. Have 2 additional pinstripe plants from a propagation.
Had a good haul for the Farmers Market this weekend! & A Happy Mothers Day & thank you from all of us men❤️😂 I wish I could ship but I just don’t trust they’d survive🥲
Just rescued a golden pothos and some of its leaves have brown spots and bite marks from pests. When I rescued it was not in a good area to be in. The pot it was in was about a 7 inch and when I repotted it, it had soil compaction and circular roots. It had to go in a pot and a lot of them are being grown in water. One of its leaves has crunchy brown spots on the edge. Any idea what it is and what to do about it? BTW moved for photo gets about 8-9 hours of bright indirect light.
That’s my Big Girl ZZ up on the stand. Anybody who has attempted propagating ZZ’s from leaves knows what patience it takes. 🫠 I’m so excited that I’m finally getting new secondary shoots!
Update: I found out my pink quill is an air plant! Anyone have ideas for a soilless set up for her? Hi everyone! I’m a beginner plant mom and kitten mom 🤭🤭 Yesterday I went to a local nursery and bought all these beauties you see here. I do have a ponytail palm as well she was given to me as a gift along with other plants that have since gone to plant heaven 😞 I’ll post my palm plant and the set up I currently have them in in the comments. Any tips or assistant so that I can level up in my plant mom life please share!
Fried my purple waffle. I’m going to attempt to salvage it lol

I think my Macho Fern has mealy bugs according to Planta Dr, but it doesn't give me a solution to rectify the issue. Help!
Hey Y’all! I received a rose today! And I want to plant it, to see if it will grow roots! Can you give me tips on potting it?
Anything good idea to take care of this?
