Does this old pot look too tall for this new guy? I don’t want to have issues with overwatering!

Hi! New to growing African Violets. I bought this one off of facebook marketplace and it already seems to have brown spots. Can I add the ā€˜Clean Kelp seaweed fertilizer’ or does it have to be a violet specific one. Hoping I can help it grow. The newer leaves are not damaged so that good.

Saved this Christmas cactus (I think?) from my mom (she’s not the best with plants) šŸ˜… Any advice is appreciated. I’m not normally a cactus/succulent person, but I would love to see it bloom.

The app is telling me this is a Chinese evergreen. I am just curious if I can chop the top off and propagate, and get rid of the stalk that has no leaves. I don’t know much about said plant because it was given to me by a family member. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!! There’s another pic in the comments šŸ‘ 😊

Anyone ever use those wick and grow self water planters? Do you like them? Or does it cause over watering

My Raven ZZ arrived today & the Rhizome/bulb/root is exposed a little. Should it be like this or should I pop a bit of houseplant compost in to cover it? Thanks in advance šŸ™

hi all!! i just recently bought two plants for my windowless office, a golden pothos and a peace lily, as they were advertised as low-light plants and i thought they’d survive the best. do you think they’d be alright with a sunlight therapy lamp’s ambient light? i’m worried about killing them, but am planning on shining the light on them a few hours a day to make up for the lack of light. edit: if those might not do very well, which plants would you reccomend?

Does anyone know what kind of plant this is? My mom gave it to me and said it was a begonia. The leaf shape looks like one but I’m not sure what kind of begonia it would be.

Recently got a Venus fly trap and I’m wondering what to feed the guy? Should I buy little bugs from the pet store? Would it be okay to go out in my front yard and find little bugs? Also, should I place it next to my humidifier even tho I’m keeping it sitting in water all the time?

I’m going to a plant shop tomorrow and I’m wondering if anyone has any plant suggestions. The spot I’m planning on keeping the plant has a philodendron birkin, deiffenbachia, calathea (Calathea Freddie), spider plant, golden pothos, monstera albo, a maranta and a pink polka dot plant thriving and putting out consistent new growth each week. I’m not opposed to getting the same species as one of my current plants, but I’m also looking for other ones as well!

Can you use LED lights for grow lights? I’ve heard conflicting opinions. Some say LEDs are just lights and others say it is a cheap alternative to grow lights. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Seeking Advice! I was gifted this plant 6 months to a year ago. I have no idea what it is as the tag was removed. From my research, it seems to be an Autograph Tree that has been grown in water instead of soil. I really like seeing its roots grow but I’ve seen websites say it is okay and it’s definitely not okay to grow the autograph tree like this. There’s plenty of new leaves that have opened within the last month but the lowest two leaves have started to get yellow tips (one site said that this could be caused by direct sunlight - is now in bright indirect light) I was just wondering if anyone has any experience or advice! This is my only hydroponic plant so any advice is welcomed! Thank you!!
