everyone makes beginner mistakes, it's fine.... but don't be like me. all of these gals had to be chopped and downsized today because when i got them / repotted them years ago, i didn't know how pot sizes work. all of these plants have been stalling for months, but i didn't see any crazy yellowing, so i assumed it was fine.... don't do that. they all had root rot. i'll never forget this smell.

Bought all the kids outside for a little fresh air and humidity.
Hi! I got this lucky bamboo about a month ago and i really want to keep it alive but i wasn’t home for ~2 weeks and now it’s wrinkled, yellowing, and roots are brown. Some internet research told me i should propagate it, so that’s what i’m trying to do now but i would really appreciate some advice because historically i have not been a very good plant caretaker. Also, what should i do moving forward? I was considering rocks.
I’m often impressed by the speed at which I’ve become a better plant parent! I owe 80 percent of this growth to this Planta community! Thank you Morgan and every single one of you kindred spirits!!! I am going to include in my conversations about plants with everybody that they need Planta to become the best green thumb possible!😉🪴🥳
Slow down Sunday! Share a peaceful plant moment from this week💚
11 plants and counting :) This craze just happened overnight and I love it 💚
Common Ivy Help Please! My common ivy seems to have trouble maintaining leaves. It sprouts new leaves but the new leaves would die off quite quickly. The stems now look a bit sorry for itself, so any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
My yuzu harvest! 43 this year, waaaay more up top but we couldn’t reach them :( Also today I spotted a little mouse scuttling about in the branches. I didn’t want to get too close to it, but any advice on how to chase it away without hurting it would be appreciated. Leaving the rest of the fruit to the birds! (And the mouse :)
I recently got this this string of pearls plant I want to let her readjust to my house but I also want to repot her into some cactus/succulent soil mix as she’s in some regular potting soil at the moment. I’m also so scared to repot her because she looks so delicate! Any advice appreciated!! :)
Hii! I got a lucky bamboo today! I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to grow these! Costa farms glued the pebbles together, do you guys experience with that? Do you guys take it off or keep it? 🥺
40$ Plant stand from Amazon ($40). I was running out of room for my plants. Any one else re arrange your floor plan to cater to your plants. This is probably my 3rd time moving things around.
My string of hearts starting growing up my Spanish moss! I can’t be mad it’s having the time of its life
I got a plant from my grandmother and wanted to get a friend for it. Are these the same two plants?
Someone tell me how to save her 😭😭😭😭
Hello, everyone! I’m new here :) This is my first ever plant, Portia <3 She is an Elephant bush, and was gifted to me about 2 month ago. She is near a south facing window, and gets watered once her soil is dry :) I have a couple questions that I googled, but I felt like it wasn’t enough info for me. I found this app and am hoping someone will be able to help me :) To start off she has grown a lot. In the first photo the green part of her stem is all that she’s grown. My worry is that the stem doesn’t seem to be getting any darker, and I was wondering if this is normal? In the second photo there is a part of her leaf that is missing, and to me it looks like something has been eating away at it. She has leaves like this all around. I’ve looked for pests but haven’t seen any. Im thinking I may just not have the eye to find them because i’m not familiar with them? Could it be something I can change? Is there anything else about her that you guys are able to see that I should do/change now? Thank you so much in advance! <3
Every new leaf from our Thai Con. Monstera never ceases to amaze me. Forever in love with watching it grow and be happy happy happy 😊 (Last two photos are from repotting the other day 😅)
I got some plants from my neighbors and I don’t think they are supposed to look like this. Help!
Happy Saturday 😊 What are you doing with your plant babies this weekend?! Repotting, propagating, or just admiring? 😍
