For winterized outside plants in the porch/basement/garage, do you continue watering when you see them droopy/depressed? Does the app keep decreasing the frequency as the weather keeps getting cooler/colder? Feels like I'm doing something wrong, since if I'd leave outside, it would still be getting some type of hydration whether rain or snow...

What’s is everyone’s solution to a cat chewing on or eating your plants? My daughter’s cat is chewing on our houseplants! Thankfully all of them are pet safe/non toxic, but we’d prefer he not eat on them! Any suggestions/solutions?
Look who decided to bloom today! Recently rescued this cutie from a local nursery that’s closing after 73 years in the area. She was very soft and wrinkly when I got her, and some of her lower leaves still aren’t too cute, but this little flower decided to start peeking out about 3 days ago, and I was in for a pleasant little surprise this afternoon 😊 this is my reminder to all of you that even something that’s been neglected or struggling for a while can bounce back with a little bit of care.
Halloween countdown: Fungus Gnat Fright "Enter the fungus gnats—tiny, pesky terrors that swarm your plants like a ghostly cloud! They’re everywhere, buzzing around your face, even flying straight into your nostrils when you least expect it. These relentless pests might be harmless, but they haunt your home like a curse, never truly leaving. Just when you think they’re gone... they’re back, driving you mad with their endless fluttering!" Anyone who won the fight against them? Anyone who still fights?
Went on a trip to Australia and New Zealand recently and thought I’d share some pictures of houseplants doing their thing in nature ! I know most of these plants but not all so feel free to puny out others as you see them. I believe I saw monstera, golden pothos, a variety of ficus, some sort of calthea and anthurium (?), spider plants and peace lilies.
i’m going to be moving in late november early december, how should i go about moving my plants?? i have quite a few propagations and about 20 potted plants im not moving far at all its actually only about a 2 minute drive so im going to be making multiple trips back and forth, what would be the best method of moving??
What are the 2 things on the side of my plant
My snake plant had a little accident a couple weeks ago.. and now it’s finally giving me another pup! So glad 🥲
Does my peace lily need to be repotted? A bit new to this whole plant thing, but I’ve had her for about a month and it seems to me that she’s getting a bit large for her nursery pot.
What's your favorite plant shop? Mine is Logee's because the options near me are limited to basically big box stores and I like finding rare and unique plants.
UPDATE: got the pots apart, and replanted the ZZ. It was actually very root bound as well as rhizomes rising to the top. I think this will be a happier home for it.
Anyone have advice for a fertilizer I can add to my plants that are in water?
Curious what everyone’s favorite fertilizer is for your indoor plants?
I’ve been away since Thursday, visiting my mom, and just got back today. I’m so looking forward to getting back into the swing of plant chores tomorrow! Is that odd? Am I the only one that gets peace from plant chores? I discovered thrips right before I left and have been anxious all weekend to get home, even while enjoying the time with my mom and helping her organize her new home, and taking care of her plants for her. 😁 thankfully my neighbor friend came to the rescue while I was gone and sprayed the infected plants with Jack Dead Bug stuff and the ones that I’d noticed them on showed no new ones, but a couple more plants have them so I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me I think. I got a handful of new plants while I was away. This pothos and spider were given to Mama, but she doesn’t have the room for them so I told her I’d be glad to hang onto them until she does. 😇 The rest are from my favourite plant shop in Coeur d’Alene and Spokane, Fern. I can’t wait to integrate these into my collection! Especially the variegated String of Pearls. I’ve killed every other String of Pearls I’ve ever had but right now I have a String of Hearts and a String of Bananas that seem to be staying alive, maybe even thriving! So I thought I’d try again. The Pothos was over 5’ long but so leggy that I needed to cut him back. I’m propagating several vines and will be checking roots, fertilizing, and repotting soon, while also adding several of the cuttings back into the soil. I love that I know he can handle such drastic action, even this late in the season. Anyways! Thanks for reading my rave! Any advice for the African Violet, Aloe Vera and SOP are greatly appreciated.
How to remove the mineral build up on my Rubber fig ‘black prince’, I tried to mist it off and wipe it off with a towel soaked in warm water and it didn’t work. any suggestions?
Hello, plant parents! 🪴 I’m looking for something lush and pretty to put on a plant stand in front of an East-facing window in my home office. Any recommendations for something that likes direct morning light and bright indirect afternoon light? Thanks in advance! 🙏🏼
This is a shoutout to Emma from Planta customer service. I explained to her that I purchased a rubber plant that had a fungus when it arrived, money tree plant that was infected with thrips. She refunded the cost of the 2 plants and shipping, and added she appreciated me letting them know and that my email will be shared with the nursery. 👏
Help me identify this plant, please.
Is my crisp wave fern dying? It gets plenty of sunlight and soil is moist, but leaves are turning brown.
What’s the best way to separate these. They are stuck tight. I was thinking maybe put them in a tote of water?
