Anyone know why my Bird of paradise leaf came out so short? This is the first leaf this has put out since I brought it home a few months ago. I also did repot a few weeks ago because it was extremely root bound Will it get taller over time? Is this a nutrient deficiency? Watering issue?

It is as big around as a 55-gallon barrel! I have large hands and EACH LEAF IS AS BIG AS MY HAND! Just thought you might enjoy seeing it. Itās pretty amazing! Photos donāt do it justice.

hi plant people! this is my first ever plant child and I'm a little concerned because while I think there are new leaves growing at the ends/top, there are a lot of dried up brown leaves towards the bottom. you can kind of see in this picture that I took of it about a week ago. it looks a little bit worse now but the ends of it are more purple and still growing. planta told me this was a turtle vine but I bought it at trader joe's and it was unmarked so please let me know if you have any advice! i don't want my first plant to die and want it to be happy
(Pls help)question about self watering So I bought a china doll plant from Loweās and itās self watering with a string. (Iām very new to plants) so for now I made a setup where the string dangles in a few inches of water but the whole string isnāt covered. anyways, the top of the soil is very wet already but the plant looks healthy, I just feel like itās way overwatered and I feel like Iām gonna mess up the āself wateringā thing. Is there any specifics Iām missing? Is the soil supposed to be this wet when self watering? Do I always keep the string in water? ATP I just wanna repot it and water it normally unless anyone can give me advicešŖ
So I decided to put my dwarf Alberta spruce that's in a 5-gallon bucket outside right now but it's like 48° F , I know they can tolerate a lot of cold but it's not used to it it's used to my 65° house LOL I also put it on the East side so it and acclimate for a few weeks before I put it in full sun, I feel like when I put it in full sun a few weeks ago when it was warm for a minute that it sort of fried it's needles, my husband's having a fit because he wants it in full sun in the front yard and my tripping can it go in full sun and also the app saying it's too cold outside should I bring it back in it's going to be in the thirties tonight?, x š©š©µš²
Christmas? cactus is blooming!!
So the app is telling me to fertilize my baby red Earth star (looks pink to me thoš§š©·) every couple days, and I'm wondering if that is a little excessive and also I have it in my dragons vivarium in the same planter as a baby snake plant which I know doesn't appreciate a lot of fertilizer so what should I do separate the plants, or heavily dilute the fertilizer? I keep snoozing the fertilizing notification but it's stressing me out š©ššŖ“ they seem to be doing okay under this t5 10.0 bulb
just repotted a majority of my plants so hereās to a quick appreciation post for some of my favorites š
Planta is telling me to water my birds nest fern every day- is this correct?
My never never plant seems to have the leaves curling in on itself. Now I think that it could be down to dehydration, however I am adhering to the schedule. Could it be too much daylight now that the sun is getting warmer in a westerly facing window? It will be great to hear people's thoughts.
any tips on propagation of hoya and string of turtles? i have them in a terrarium w sphagnum moss but im jot sure if the hoya would do better in water?
Excited to use this app to keep all these plants happy. We have terrible ground āsoilā so Iām limited to using pots but happy to see them doing well
Looking for advice on my rubber plant! I bought this rubber plant from Costco about a month ago and placed it in a bright spot near south-facing windows. Since itās Feb/Mar, the light isnāt super intense. Within the first two weeks, the top two leaves developed spots. I did a bunch of Googling, but didnāt find anything helpfulālots of conflicting info. Based on the situation, Iām guessing itās sunburn. The plant came from a dark warehouse, had a big environment change, and only the top two leaves (getting the most direct light) are affected. I moved it to a shadier spot, but it feels too dark for a rubber plant. Now that itās had a month to adjust, Iām thinking of slowly moving it back to the brighter spot. Has anyone had this happen or know if this is sunburn? Is it a good idea to move it back to the sunnier spot now that its had time to adjust? Would love some advice!
