Good early morning friends! Just had a late night thought and wanted to throw it out there. When is the best time to use a grow light? I’m thinking the answer is pretty obvious, night time I’m assuming lol What color light? I’m seeing yellows, whites and purples. Does it depend on the type of plant? Thank you! 🪴 🌵

Went to our local plant swap at the library today to share some of my plants and was planing on only picking up 1 or 2 and boy did I blow it. I got 16 new plants (on the left) and a friend brought me some starts too ( right side). Well I guess I will have to build a bigger house. Lol

Is this a neon pothos or a lemon lime heart leaf philodendron? It was labeled as a neon pothos, but I have had pothos for years, and this one doesn’t seem to require the same kind of care. I also noticed some pink around the new growth. I thought maybe root rot, but it’s in a mix of soil and perlite and I am pretty sure I don’t overwater it. The pink is only around the new growth. It’s been a tricky one for me to figure out how to care for. Thanks!

I was out of town so gave the plant to a friend for a month. And he almost got it killed. 60% of the leaves turned brown so had to pluck them out. All that is left is what you can see in the image. I’m trying to revive it. Just got rid of all the dead leaves so it looks a lot better than when I got it back from friend last night. Please help me with the best methods how I can possibly revive the plant back!! It seriously needs help to get back to its lush state! The below pictures clearly show how many dead leaves I removed out of the pot and how it looks now.

Hey friends! Any alocasia experts? This baby used to have about 6 leaves and I’ve had to chop them due to them turning yellow and drooping. I’ve tried planta dr and told over/under watering & lack of fertilizer but what really is it? I repotted about a month ago, is that what’s killing her? 🥺

I bought a new plant yesterday and found this succulent leaf had fallen into it. I'm going to try to grow it, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. Any ideas?

Hey there friends! Apologies for posting so much-buttttt I need some assistance with this Aloe Vera plant. It’s actually my mother-in-laws plant and it’s not doing so good. Any advice? I’m looking to change the soil and keeping it in the same pot.

Roots project

At The Root Project, we love seeing plants thrive, and this basil plant is a perfect example of resilience and growth! What started as a simple cut stem of basil—something many might toss away—has now grown into a full, thriving bush. With just a little patience, water, and care, this single cutting developed strong roots, was transplanted into soil, and flourished into a lush plant ready to be harvested for fresh, homegrown flavor. This journey reminds us of the power of nurturing, whether it’s plants, communities, or new ideas. If you’ve never tried propagating herbs before, basil is a great place to start! Have you had success growing plants from cuttings? Share your stories below! #TheRootProject #GardeningForGood #BasilGrowth #FromCuttingToBush

I’m looking for advice on this lemon tree (ignore its current placement, I’ve pulled it out to take pics). I bought it majorly reduced at the garden centre and want to nurse it back to life. What should I do? I’ve planted it in ericaceous compost but haven’t fed it or anything yet as I wanted to get advice first. I’ve pruned slightly. Advice and help please 🍋

Help‼️my rubber tree has spider mites. Where I live I is cold outside so I can’t take it outside and do a thorough washing. I washed it with Castile soap to the best I could indoors. Sprayed neem on it and they came back🫣how I can I get rid of these guys indoors 😭

My Money Tree was thriving and then suddenly I noticed a mushy stem. I took the plant apart and it seemed the bottom soil was giving root rot (despite being a self draining pot). I removed the mushy stem and then repotted it. Seemed like it was doing better, but now I noticed two other stems are getting mushy (I swear I’m not overwatering!!) should I remove the other two stems? There would be two good stems left. Any tips to save this baby?

Hi! Very new plant mama here. I have several plants ranging from pothos to bamboo to palm to zz to Swiss cheese and a few more. Is there an add in fertilizer that can be used for all species or does it need to be specific. I’ve never put anything on my plants other than water. I have no clue what I’m doing here! Thanks!!
