Is it just me or something about water days just make me feel so happy🌿🌸🌿

I got some new plants today and chopped apart a plant I am trying to save! Ficus Snake plant The one I’m trying to save - I chopped off some healthy-ish looking stems and will see if they can get healthy or not. OH and I got a fake ficus for $18! I would have loved a real one but I wasn’t sure what to get for the area - it’s sunny, by a window, and I have 3 big dogs I didn’t want to worry about them knocking over. So when I saw this on sale, I figured I’d give it a go!

Are fertilizer sticks the same as slow release fertilizer pellets like Osmocote?

So, this is my first time having a lady Valentine flower, but she is still kind of small and I would like her to focus on leaf growth, so I have two questions: 1. Should I nip the flower? And 2. In the case that I should, at what point and where should I do that for this type of plant? TIA

Watering Wednesday! Do you usually water from the top of the soil, or practice bottom watering?

Can someone please help identify what's wrong with my corn plant? The edges of its leaves are turning brown and looks like there are tiny dots on them. Any suggestions on what's causing this and how to fix it?

Any gesneriad experts here? This is an episcia. No, the leaves aren’t supposed to be that small. But they’ve been that way for months. I’ve got other plants next to it that seem happy, including a ludisia, a streptocarpus, and two violets. It’s getting the same care and light they are. What am I doing wrong?!

This guy seems to be thriving, but I'm uncertain whether I should think of separating some of it, or moving it to a bigger pot this coming year. Thoughts??

✨⭐️ User Spotlight!! ⭐️✨ From user- brittrb 💚 “I’m a young stay at home mom of 2 young kids and my plant journey started about 1 year ago when I was expecting our second child. I accumulated about 30 - 40 house plants in a six month span. When my son was born and fall and winter approached I really enjoyed learning more and caring for my plants. With a newborn and colder weather it was more difficult to get outside and I enjoyed my houseplants all the more! My toddler even started helping care for the plants. My sister told me about Planta at thanksgiving when she visited and I downloaded the app. Since then I have been enjoying sharing my love for plants as well as learning about others love for plants. I have also gained so much knowledge about the plants that I currently own and about other plants that I hope to own in the future. I am so thankful for the plant community that Planta helps provide!” Thank you so much brittrb for sharing your plant journey! 😊 ✨ If you would like to be a featured user, please email me! Any ideas on what to do with this arrowhead plant? It has totally bugged out since transplanting it about a week ago. The plant behind it shows its health before transplanting.

I was given these 3 baby Aloe tonight from a learning plant dad. They were very dry and they look kinda sad or droopy. Any tips? My 1st Aloes 🪴 Always wanted one 🤗 hoping to save all three 🙏🏾 Thinking I'll repot all three in one large pot but idk. More research i guess unless anyone have any helpful tips or suggestions 🙏🏾

Trying to be a plant dad! So asking for general advice. What would you recommend for plants indoors versus outdoors? A lot of my plants I’ve moved into a self watering pot where you fill up the bottom and there just happens to be a coil of rope that loops up into the soil and apparently absorbs the water upwards into the plant. However, I’ve seen a lot of folks use. What’s effectively are the drainage hold nursery pots or similar, and simply insert those into a more of a decorative pot. I’ve also been reading a lot about using terra-cotta pots. Is there any reason why you would do one over the other, a specific plant while you do one over the other, or is this all just personal preference?
