Hi. So I quite literally just started getting into gardening. I have a flower seedling that sprouted(she’s indoors right now since it’s too cold out at night still) sometime earlier last week and it’s been doing good. Although the pot didn’t have any drainage nothing seemed to be going poorly. But I’ve just been paranoid that my good progress would be lost without switching to a pot with a hole. So I just did that. The top portion of the soil with the baby seedling held together. Bottom half I just scooped out into the next and placed the seedling with soil on top. I slightly plopped it in lopsided and was messing with it trying to get it back up right. Am I totally done for now? I don’t know if I messed up by switching it and then not placing it straight in or if that matters. Please help lol. Did I disturb it and is it going to die on me now

This is crazy… I think I’m losing my mind! I’m trying to ID a plant with Planta, which I’ve done many times, and I think something must’ve changed; can anyone tell me how to do this? TIAā€¦šŸ™ˆ!

Hi Planta Community! First post and first question! I have this Black Olive tree. I got it a few months ago as a gift. We had a brief rough time with the shock of moving and being repotted. The plastic pot it came it was badly damaged. It is now in a ceramic pot. I have it up on some tile to help keep the drain hole open at the bottom. It’s under a grow light for 12 hours a day. It is now doing so much better! No more leaves falling off and I’m seeing new growth. My question is this. Would you recommend removing the bottom limb highlighted in the picture with blue? If so when? Now, or should I wait another season? I don’t know much about it from before so I don’t know how old it is. Planta recommended that I prune it and I think it’s definitely too young for that but I did wonder about that one branch.

I need help making a choice. I absolutely adore callisia repens and would love to get one! But I fear I am quite conflicted on which one I should get. It’s really close between the beautiful ā€˜Pink Lady’ or the soft and sweet ā€˜Bianca’. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions on which one I should get!! ā˜ŗļø

Good Morning plant friends😊 here’s a question. I was gifted a mystery colorful succulents for my birthday from my sister. How would you categorize this in the app? I’m assuming that watering would be the same since they’re together. Thank you in advance šŸ™‚

Hey hey, so I’m on a plant ban but hubby will occasionally buy me a plant. Today is one of those days! Should I buy a Philodendron Pink Princess or a variegated string of hearts. Comment and let me know your favorite!

My tradescantia is growing a lot. I am curious if I need to repot it, do I need to put little support stakes in, or is this normal? I tried to do some research and couldn’t find anything

What should I do about this avocado plant? There are 2 stems. Do I cut one of them so it can invest all energy into the other?

We're now adding artificial plants! 🌿😊 Search for "Faux plant", Artificial Plant," "Imitation Plant", "Silk Plant," or "Fake Plant" in the database. Below, you'll also find some care tips! • The Ultimate Guide to Caring for Your Faux Plants • In recent years, faux plants have become the go-to choice for busy individuals who love greenery but don’t have the time to keep real plants alive. However, what many people don’t realize is that faux plants also require regular care and attention to thrive. If you’ve been neglecting your artificial foliage, it’s time to step up your game. Follow these expert tips to ensure your Faux plants stay as healthy and vibrant as possible! 1. Watering Schedule Unlike real plants, faux plants are incredibly sensitive to overwatering. In fact, even a single drop of water can be too much! Instead of watering, consider misting them gently with absolutely nothing—just the motion of spraying will make them feel cared for. 2. Proper Sunlight Exposure It’s a common myth that artificial plants don’t need sunlight. In reality, placing them in a dark corner for too long can lead to severe emotional distress (for the owner, not the plant). Move them around occasionally to keep things interesting. If you notice them wilting—wait, never mind. 3. The Right Soil Choosing the right soil for your faux plants is crucial. Experts recommend using a mix of premium air and high-quality emptiness for best results. Over time, if you feel the soil is getting too compact, simply give it a good stir with an imaginary trowel. 4. Seasonal Maintenance As the seasons change, so do the needs of your artificial plants. In spring, gently shake off any accumulated dust. In summer, make sure they don’t get sunburned (just kidding, they’re faux). In autumn, consider throwing some fake leaves around for a more authentic vibe. And in winter, remember: artificial plants are surprisingly resistant to frostbite. 5. Emotional Support Many plant owners talk to their plants, and artificial plants are no exception! Telling them they’re doing a great job can boost their confidence, and—who knows?—maybe one day they’ll talk back. (If they do, please consult a professional, immediately.) Final Thoughts Taking care of faux plants is both an art and a science. With proper love and attention, your fake foliage will reward you with years of unwavering, low-maintenance companionship. Do you have any Faux plants at home? 😃🪓
