Help please! She has done great ever since i got her but now her leaves feel a little mushy and one set of leaves don’t stay up on their own. I’m new to plants and am not sure the best way to help her. Thank you!
Hi all, I received a Winter Pine as a gift about 10 months ago. When I first got it, it was lush, with vibrant green leaves, and a bit smaller in size. The care instructions said it needed direct sunlight, so I’ve been keeping it in a spot where it gets plenty of sun. However, about 7 months ago, the leaves started turning brown. I’ve been watering it whenever the soil dries out, but the leaves have stayed brown since then. I checked the branches by bending them, and they still have some flexibility, so I’m not sure if it’s completely dead or if there’s still a chance to save it. A friend of mine, who has a lot of experience with plants, thinks it might be dead, but I’m really hoping there’s a way to revive it. I’m not sure what to do and would appreciate any advice or guidance you can offer. Thank you!
So I picked up this monstera adansonii and I was just wondering if this pot was big enough for her or if I should size her up?
Please can you help me. My Areca has been watered as suggested in the app and I've used a moisture meter to check I have watered enough but the leaves seem to be still going brown at the ends . What am I doing wrong ?
Looking for care recommendations for my son’s grapefruit plant. He planted a seed from a store bought grapefruit about two years ago and it had miraculously stayed alive. But it’s hardly grown at all and it doesn’t look very happy. What do we need to do to help it thrive (we live in NYC with only one window that gets much sunlight, for context. We do have a small outdoor space, but anytime I’ve put something living out there it’s destroyed by squirrels almost immediately.)
Which fertilizer do you use for green plants found in USA? Tia
Plant suggestions, please! My plant shelves are under this ancient heating contraption and I think it’s affecting some of my plants. Therefore, I’m thinking of moving some of the plants and getting new ones that won’t be as affected by the heater. Any suggestions? My snake plant is doing great even though it’s probably getting the most heat so I’m looking for similar plants that also won’t wilt/die when we turn on the heat.
Hi! So, I recently got into houseplants, and I’m looking to get another. I’d love to get something more colorful, like some sort of flower or flowering plant. The problem is I don’t have a lot of space, so it would have to be something small-medium and fairly manageable. Is there even something out there that would work? I’m looking for recommendations. Thanks!
Anyone reccomend their most rewarding plants? I'm slowly gonna cap my plant count to around 24ish [eventually] so i really want plants that satisfy that primal itch when I build my wishlist. So many look yummy but I don't know what feels nice to care for lol😋
I had to separate my Micholitziana. The new leaves were getting smaller, the big leaves were turning yellow and most of the leaves were wilting. She threw a temper tantrin and dropped most of the remaining leaves. I'm unfamiliar with what to do next. Do I leave the remaining leaves or do I just chop it at the base at this point; Where would I chop it?
4ft in 3 months ( this is not normal spot in case any of you were concerned)
I’m wanting to get an ivy plant. Anything I should know about them first? Do they do well in low light? TIA! Edit: sorry guys I meant a Common Ivy
Hey plant people! Looking for advice. When you have a plant strongly rooted in water, do you prefer to move to soil, or to lecha and then soil? I have had equal fails and success with each method, but prefer ultimately to have my plants in soil. I understand it varies by type of plant, but would love some advice that comes from solid experience.
Not sure where to place the humidifier with my plants. Does this look ok? Thanks
Is this pot good for my peace lily?? It had some root rot but I cut it off and I potted it up with tropical potting mix and I mixed that with a bag of orchid bark.
What's this orange stuff? The plant is thriving and grew 4 inches in a month or so, but the soil is looking like this and it didnt before. Anything i should fix?
I need some advice from people who live in cold climates! I just moved from Seattle to Boston and most of my plants died on the way. I don’t want to lose the ones that survived, but they started drooping and I wondered if maybe being near the window in January was too much. So I moved them “inland,” but then they’re near the heater. I’ve added a humidifier, but jeez, I’m worried about them! Any advice?
I just purchased an Alocasia Camouflage from my local nursery. I was unsure if I need to pot it in chunky soil mix like I do for my aroids- or if I should place it in leca. I have no experience with Alocasia since it’s my first. Any help is appreciated! -picture for reference (not my photo)
My peace lily tends to droop quite a bit. I just watered it and it seems to be coming back up. The app says water every six days, I’m finding out that it needs it about every four days or so. Soil gets dry pretty quick. I am in Arizona so it’s already pretty dry here.
