Appreciation post. Long story short: my cat befriended his now adopted grandma who lives behind us. We then exchanged Xmas gifts, I cleaned up her beautiful desert backyard with various plants she planted 30+ years ago (Jurassic size now). We started texting here and there and after finding out we are trying our hand at gardening, she left this book on the wall for us; it has tons of notes as well. Plants bring people together no matter who you are. Also, I think I inherited a grandma 💚 So keep on posting & sharing ya’ll !
This is my thanksgiving cactus named cali
Planted these on Friday 4/4 what am I doing wrong ? There morning glory’s. I’m in New Mexico
Just planted these Morning Glorys on Thursday(4/3) and I feel like this is explosive growth…I’ve always wanted them and I’m so excited to have them flower! Germination said 8-12 days so how’d I get 4 with this much growth?!
I’m growing morning glories from a seed and was curious how to make sure they grow
Does anyone have recommendations for cheap fertilizer bc I need some but it’s either expensive or idk where to get it
found a nursery today with the coziest greenhouse, the kindest staff, and wicked happy plants 🌿 🌱 marblehead gardens 📍 marblehead, ma
Has anyone had good experiences ordering plants online? If so, where?
Does anyone have some good recommendations for indoor herbs to grow? Or any plants you can grow indoors that are edible cause I love eating plants. 😋🪴
Just got this string of pearls a week or so ago and look all the little sprouts! 🌱 I’m new to plants so any progress is exciting lol. If you have any care tips on string of pearls I’d be happy to hear!
During last week there was several spam accounts and we have been working as fast as possible to get them all and cleaning up. But the way you guys are engaged in this, mailing us about it and reporting both comments and accounts that seems weird 💚 From the bottom of my Planta-heart: thank you all for being a part of Planta and keeping community safe! 💚
Divided my 4 piece monstera into two different pots for the first time in almost 3 years - she’s looking so happy already 🥹 excited to plant the propagation soon!☘️
Hej! I’ve been thinking of using wine corks at the bottom of the pot instead of drain rocks. Has anyone ever tried this and if so, what were your experience? 🙂
Where do you all order your plants from??? I'd LOVE some new places to look ❤️
So it’s been raining here for the last 4-5 days and my plants haven’t had much sunlight. They’re looking very leggy. Will this cause an issue with growing in general? I don’t have a grow light since it’s my first time ever trying to grow things but I just want to know if that’s something I should definitely look into or if the plants will eventually not be leggy? lol for example this is my cilantro. She’s struggling.
Lived on top of cabinet and I couldn’t actually see into the plant. Some stems broke off where the went over edge of pot and some pulled out from soil from weight of plant. That was the side on the edge of cabinet towards sun. Obviously needs repotted, right? Can I just stick nodes into the soil? Any other thoughts?
Something is happening to my long awaited for Stella… I have absolutely no idea what this is, or why it’s happened. The cream colored parts on her leaves feel sort of crunchy, not the soft green of a leaf you would normally feel. However, she has been in a south facing window this winter, but we live in Oregon… where the sun don’t shine much! Since this is a fairly recent problem, and it is getting warmer here, could she be too warm sitting on the windowsill? I’ve seen temps in the low 80s upon occasion, but that’s not very often since we usually have cloud cover. So, I’ve haven’t seen any pests, she is watered and fertilized properly, and humidity levels stay around 50%+… IDK! Do any of you? TIA! PS. I wish we had feel a text… 🤭!
Can someone tell me what theses spots are?
these make me so happy 🥰
