Thought I’d share this beautiful tree on campus that just bloomed overnight lol
Getting a new leaf on my calathea orbifolia, so I must be doing something right for a notoriously difficult plant 🥰🥰
My elephant ears are finally sprouting!!!!
Guys😩 it’s happening, the brown dry spots I was warned about. And idea what’s going on?🪴
When you are using the chopstick method to determine dryness of a plant, for your plants that don’t like to be totally dry, ferns, Calatheas, fig plants, etc., how dirty should your stick be or not be? That is my question of the day and has been for a while, I just haven’t asked. TXS. 💚🪴
So my friend just became a plant mom and sent me pictures of her plants who aren’t doing so well. What are your thoughts?? The one with rocks is a succulent.
Just got this cutie for $2 but it’s just listed as “assorted succulent”. Any clue what it is?
My ZeZe plant is turning yellow and I have no idea why can ya’ll tell me how to help me?
😍
I’ve noticed recently that a lot of people are posting about overwatered plants. Something that I’ve learned from my thorough research and experience is that most plants prefer to dry out between waterings. A great way to check if a plant needs to be watered is to insert a wooden skewer or chopstick, leave it in for a minute, and if it comes out dry with no dirt on it, it’s time to water. And remember that Planta’s schedule is never completely accurate! ALWAYS check your plant before watering! Here is a list of plants that like to dry out between waterings: Succulents, cacti, moth orchids, peperomia, tradescantia, monsteras, pothos, philodendrons, spider plants, syngoniums, dracaena, corn plants, money tree, ZZ plants, aglaonema (Chinese evergreen), cast iron plant, Chinese money plant, umbrella plant, bromeliads, hoya. Plants that don’t like to dry out between waterings: nerve plants, begonias, polka dot plants, ferns, prayer plants, rubber plants, birds of paradise, carnivorous plants (which require a whole different care system than most plants), alocasias, peace lilies, dieffenbachia. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Not me forgetting to take the drainage plug out even after having the plant for a month. 🫣 I couldn’t figure out why it was so droopy long before watering day, can’t bottom water a plant with no open holes. 😅
Is it normal for these guys to grow upwards? He just keeps moving up and I don’t know what I’ll do once he hits the ceiling! (For reference, I stood on my sofa for this). TIA!
Anything y’all can do to help out my girl here. She’s a white sage plant and i may have to put her down. Please reach out and let me know what you think would help her crispness. Thanks
why are my bird of paradise leaves curling and turning brown
Hey all, I’ve had this pink princess for probably a month now. It has grown three new leaves in that time (two in the last week!) I was wondering what is coming out of the pot though? They’re red and slightly fuzzy? Is it roots or something else?
Hi! Does anyone know if these little bumps will become new stems? She needs a repot but I don’t want to break the little nub growth and tbh she’s growing and seems happy as she is right now x
Hi everyone I would like to know if there are any plants that aren’t very hard I have a golden pothos, 2 peace lilies, a aloe Vera, and a monstera, and a lucky bamboo, and last a strawberry plant
Hello! I’m just curious. Is there any kind of plant that doesn’t need a drainage hole in its pot. I have a super cute pot that came with one of my plants but there’s no drainage holes. Thanks!
Hello!! So, I have a tiny string of pearls plant that I am trying to baby as much as possible because my last one died lol, but is this an aerial root on some new growth and should I keep it on or pluck it off?
