I’m soo excited that spring is around the corner. What are some plant must haves that I need to add to my collection this year? I currently have a few snake plants, aloe veras, spider plants, monstera deliciosas, and a few pothos. I’m working on some props for purple spiderwort as well and cannot wait to pot them in the spring!
Good afternoon everyone!☀️ Just asking for some good leaf cleaning mixtures! Any that you recommend? Have worked really well for shining but also keeping pests away? Also looking for some good liquid fertilizer just so I can get my stuff ready. TIA💗
I moved to a new home about a year and a half ago. The couple of sad, straggly houseplants I’d been carting around me with over the years suddenly thrived in their new home and voila! A plant obsession was born. Since then, my collection has grown exponentially but I’m definitely still a novice with much to learn from the wise plant folk here. My question is: my house has VERY hard water (approximately 684 if that means anything to anyone). Is this causing problems for my plants? I can’t imagine softened water is desirable either? Rainwater will be doable once winter’s over but for the times I don’t have rainwater, what’s my best bet? Thanks as always for the shared wisdom 😊
So, I’m in the middle of a repot of this poor plant (Ctenanthe) but I want to share this photo of a root carpet! I bought it a month ago in horrible condition and extremely root bound
I see this Orange Build up on the drainage holes on my Philodendron fuzzy petiole pot so im going to repot and give fresh soil today… dunno what the orange shit is haha Mineral build up? Anyone know what it is? Seems to be Making new growth brown and die off

Picked up this beautiful lady today. It’s my first Alocasia. Any advice would be appreciated!!
So I got his beautiful lady today, very happy and excited…but her roots are hanging way out there. I know I should let her get used to her new climate but what should I do? Repot or not? If not now I definitely know later but…should I wait at all? I just don’t want her to die.
Does anyone have tips on how to avoid the tips of my cat palm from turning brown? I keep trimming them and new branches keep growing but they all keep turning brown at the tips!!! (This photo is after I did some maintaining)
Update, Wtf is going on here? I’ve never seen Zz roots these are squishy and very plump. Is this from overwatering? 😲😓🪴
