I found a satin pothos and pothos n’joy at a plant store a few weeks ago. Their soil was very bad so I repotted them and found out they only have maybe 2-3 inches of roots each. I decided to pot them together because alone the weight of their leaves would topple them over. I really don’t want to cut their leaves off because they are very healthy and pretty. The plant have no health problems and have started to grow many new leaves.
Any tips and did I do the right thing?

Hi plant friends! Well, I’m still working away on figuring out the best care for my calathea velvet jungle. There was a couple days I didn’t refill my humidifier so that certainly didn’t help. But then …. Once I’m pretty sure I’m not the right parent for this plant …. A new leaf is coming in!!! The other ones look horrible and I’ve contemplating trimming it all down and starting over. So I guess I’ll see what happens with this new leaf before I decide anything. I’m pretty excited!!

I really love mickey mouse and frydek alocasia but I swore em off because they are perpetually infested. Always spider mites but I have literally found a slug in the middle of winter once which was WILD. How? I have no clue. I dont have the space anyways, but I was wondering if I could see yours. Ill admire from a distance haha.

Hello!
I have some baby spider plants I’m propagating!
Just wondering how long they need before I can plant them in soil, they’ve been in the water for 10 days so far and they look to be doing well!
Can I plant them yet?
Also when it comes to planting, I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations for the size of the nursery pot needed? I have some 3.8Wx3H inch pots I was planning to use, but I’m wondering how lengthy the roots grow and if they may need more space?
Thanks in advance!

Let’s all pray to the plant gods…..
This plant noob just did 6 repottings:
1- Gold Dust Croton
1- Galaxy False Aralia
1- Blushing Philo
1- Calathea Medallion
1- Calathea Pink Star
1-Corn Plant Lemon Lime
The Croton and the Aralia had just outgrown their nursery pots and needed constant watering as they dried out in less than 3 days.
Ohhhh the Calatheasss…..the saga continues with them. I “repotted” them the other day. All I did was rework their original soil and put them back in the same pots. No new soil. They were staying wet for too long. Soil had compacted. I checked them this morning, still way too wet. So Ive repotted them again. Their original soil was dense. Looked like soggy Oreos. I put them in new pots, but the same size as their old ones with a much better draining soil mixture. I gave the medallion the Britney Spears haircut as the leaves were dry and brown and weren’t recovering like the pink stars. P.s. I bought 3 more calatheas last night lol
The Blushing Philo was purchased last night, along with 9 other plants lol. Her roots were all the way out of her pot, so she needed it for sure.
The corn plant- last night while plant shopping (Supposed to be ladder shopping) this corn plant called to me. I pulled him out of his decorative pot, discovered he’s just sitting in water. The smell that came from that water was horrendous. I couldn’t check the roots cause the soil was like liquid at the bottom. I brought it home. Sat it on paper towels over night and replanted it this morning. It smelled soooooo bad. But the roots were fine.
I’m hoping they all live after the repottings lol

Just got a Bunch of plants tonight. I have a few that I believe need to be repotted. This one is the blushing philodendron. Roots everywhere. I could not get this one out of the pot.
2nd one is the Aubrey Ficus. This was one of the super super dry ones. Ficus also had a lean to it, I’m figuring cause it’s dying of thirst lol anywho.
Do either of these need to be repotted?

Found a Thai con at Walmart for $10! Its largest leaf was broken but it had a new leaf coming. Discount plants the only reason to go to Walmart

Ok this is my lavender scallops plant. What could be going on here? The first picture is where it started and the other is now.

Walked to the pharmacy and in one of the local businesses planters noticed that this tradescantia nanouk was blooming! Never seen that before and did not expect to see it in such an uncontrolled environment.

Wanted to start a thread where everyone could share their favorite nurseries and shops to buy their houseplants from. For me, my top two are Ott’s Exotic Plants in Schwenksville, PA, and The Rhoads Garden in North Wales, PA. I highly recommend checking either out if you’re ever in the area. Here’s some photos I’ve taken over the years at Ott’s. Feel free to share your favorite online shops/nurseries greenhouses or Etsy sellers as well if you get more of your plants online, or non-plant-exclusive shops one might not think to check out for plants. TIA!
For anyone interested in checking Ott’s out, they are a VERY large nursery. They sell houseplant supplies, soil, pots, seeds, etc. as well, but most people come for their houseplants or mums. Each room has a different selection of houseplants to choose from, including:
- a room for peperomias, hoyas, lipstick and goldfish plants, begonias, African violets, and terrarium starter plants
- a room for pothos, philodendrons, spider plants, monsteras, and pretty much every other tropical plant you can think of
- a front entrance with a seasonal banana plant where you can buy the bananas or banana plants from them.
- a koi pond and waterfall, with a staircase that takes you to the top of the nursery so you can look down at their jungle
- a long back room stocked with everything from flowers to herbs and vegetables, cacti and succulents (10-15 foot cacti included), bonsai, and very fragrant fruit trees.
- stray cats that love to sunbathe on the tables and follow customers around. They’re very sweet, and take lots of cat naps as you walk around.

I bought this pilea about 3 weeks ago and have noticed these weird little marks on some of the leaves. Does anyone know what this could be and how to fix it?

Slightly different post to the usual ones on here- how many people have planta premium and would suggest it as a must have persay?
Curious about upgrading but want to get opinions from other people- TIA!🤍
Edit: I’m still learning about my plants and how to care for them so getting all the info on them is my main reason for downloading this app and now looking into the premium.
