Recurring infrequent plant maintenance💚
Discovering that I’m going to need to account for little things in my plant care maintenance, like replacing top soil. My outdoor plants seemed low (I could see some roots) so I added soil for them. How often do you do this? And are there any other things I might need to do from time to time to care for my plants? Besides water, fertilizer, battle pests, repot, light check, ?

I was repotting my alocasias, and I found so many corms in my alocasia Polly and Jacklyn!! If someone could help with how to know which ones are viable and how best to grow them, that would be great!

Dear Husband....I love you so much for watering my plants while I have been so busy. I love that you are stepping up and helping me without me asking.
However, you are killing my plants. Some are so water logged that I almost have to repot them in dry soil. I have thrown away 2. And watering some with tap water is killing them. Also, I have them in certain spots for reasons. I get that you don't know, but please put them back where you found them.
Also, I have insecticidal soap for a reason. If you aren't sure, just ask.. because now my thrips have moved from the initial quarantine to other plants.
In the end, this is all my fault but wow....my poor collection!

How do we feel about “self-watering” pots? The kind with the rope at the bottom. Are they good, or just a gimmick? Does it just depend on the plant? Asking for a friend so share your thoughts and experiences! 🤭

Hi everyone! I’m new to the plant world as I just got my first ever batch on Friday. I have 2 key questions. Thanks so much in advance.
It’s really important to me to take good care of them, but I have gotten a couple different instructions, so I’m coming here to ask for help from the plant nerds, in hopes I can become one myself someday!
Attached are my plants - 9 in total. 8 outdoor on patio and 1 indoor in front of window. They were all just re-potted.
Question #1: The person who sold me the plants gave me directions to water all the outdoor plants every day when it’s over 45° out. About once a week for the indoor tree. However, the app has watering periods from 2-10 days per plant. Which one is correct?
Question #2: And this could tie to question 1… but how much water to put each watering? The app says to pour until water comes out of the drainage hole. However other places I see tell me to go until the first 2 inches of soil are moist. Can someone help me with how to make sure these plants have long happy lives?
Additional curiousity questions below:
- He said no watering under 32°, and once a week in 32-45° weather. Does that sound right?
- Do they need fertilizer done at the times noted on the app?

Golden crocodile philodendron flower blooming help :)
This flower bloom has been at a standstill for 4 months now. The leaves keep growing which is amazing but will the flower ever bloom?

My euphorbia might be dying? I royally screwed this one up, it was turning yellow so I thought maybe too much water, so I watered it less. Then went away on a work trip for 3 days- of course heat wave came through so it was upper 90’s which is not usual where I live. I came back and it looks like the picture below- column is yellow almost until the top- it is very thin, a lot thinner than it was, but no mushy parts anywhere, I even took it out and checked the roots and bottom so rot or smell or anything off. The picture where it is green is what it looked like before. Is it a goner or will it come back? I’m so upset about this one, I got it when it maybe 2 inches.

2023 to now. I want to repot it -probably for the last time into a bit larger hanging pot. Any advice? Finally getting some new growth to cover the ‘bean loss’ at the top, I know it will be tricky and I will lose a lot. 🥺 Gallon water bottle is for scale. I just measured: it’s about 24” long.
