What plants have you had success with at work? I work in the middle of a hospital (nowhere near a window) but feel as though at least one small live plant is necessary for my sanity. I don’t plan on using a plant light because there is PLENTY of fluorescent lighting at my desk…suggestions/ success stories? 🪴

Hi everyone. Long time, no post. I felt like I should pop back in because I know a lot of us here are big fans of Orange Lake Nursery. I don’t think I’ve seen a list of favorite online sellers that doesn’t have their name on it.
Frank, Stacey, and the dogs are okay. Last I heard, they don’t have electricity or internet however. I’m incredibly heartbroken to say that their nursery was wiped out earlier today by a tornado. And on top of that, they remain in the path of the coming hurricane. It hurts so much to think of what they’re going through right now. And I’m sure they’re not the only nursery experiencing similar tragedies these past few weeks, not to mention all the homes, other businesses, and facilities that have been or will be affected.
I don’t know what else to say, but I wanted to share here where other people might understand why I’m heartbroken for a plant shop that I’ve never even been to personally. I also figure that some of us on here, myself included, may have open plant orders with OLN right now. While I haven’t heard an official announcement or any talk about it from others yet, I’m going to prepare for the possibility that the plants I ordered are no longer sellable. I think the best we can offer them at the moment is our patience and understanding. I’ve heard some talk about a GoFundMe for them, but I don’t know if that’s actually in the works. I can keep anyone who’s interested updated as I learn more. And to anyone else affected by the tornados and hurricanes, my heart goes out to you too and I wish you safety and security 💚

Hi guys!! Please give me your thoughts on my setup. I moved into a very low light level apartment and this is my first time with grow lights. The guy at the nursery recommended one for my monstera which hasn’t been doing well since I moved. The little black thing on the bottom is my humidifier. Pls help me help my plants xoxo

Help! Picked up this guy- labeled as a Swiss cheese philodendron. But I’m reading so many conflicting things- is it actually a monstera? Are they truly difficult to care for like planta claims or easy like everything else I read? Any and all tips very appreciated!

My string of dolphins is dying. I keep it in the window seal inside and I don’t overwater. Any tips on how to save the remaining 😭

Hello guys!! I just got this plant about a month ago. At first it had a few red dots but now it’s turning yellow and brown. Any suggestions on what is causing this?

really proud of this guy 😂. I got it off fb and it’s been a good reminder not to take one leaf cuttings

It normal for a fiddle leaf fig cuttings to lower its side leaves. Is this to face the light source or is it something bad? Because the leaf closest to the light source is lowering itself and the middle is turning towards the direction of the light source.

Wanted to share some gorgeous jade plants I saw throughout my trip to San Francisco. To anyone in the Bay Area with one of these lovely jades, or outdoor succulent gardens, I applaud and envy you as someone from a place where I can’t put any of my succulents outside. And if you have a succulent garden you’d like to share, please feel free to turn this into a thread for your lovely little cactus/succulent abodes. 😊

So, in a last ditch effort to save my very sad Bird of Paradise, I completely chopped the plant and trimmed the roots. I put the roots in a jar of water and have gotten this growth (about 3cm) in only 3 days!
I don’t know if this is the start of a new stem (it’s unfurling a bit like a leaf) does anyone know what’s going on here? I don’t want to get my hopes up and have it be nothing! 😭
