Not the best lighting but I finally got my Raven ZZ I’ve been ogling and I love her 🤩 Meet Morticia Planta friends!
One thing about me is that I am completely obsessed with anything polka dot. Naturally, the polka dot begonia is my favorite plant (at the moment). Picked up these beauties yesterday at the cutest little plant shop called Desert and Vine (for anyone in the Nashville area) 😍
Thought I would share my new pot with new allium 🥰 Currently renovating our house and garden but I wanted to hide the water drain at the front with these pots. Once we have replaced some blown bricks around the bottom of the house, we are going to loved the paving slabs up and replace with Cotswold stone chips and paint the fence…but all in good time ☺️
My baby has a flower !!
It's July and I'm back from my family holiday which means it's time to send the saffron corms into dormancy! Normally this would be done in May/June but mine sprouted during shipping. No light and no water indoors until early to mid September. I may even wrap the pot in hardware cloth and put it on the shaded porch on super dry summer days. Until fall, say goodnight to The Alices. P.S. Planta wants me to keep watering lol. No no... no... no. xD That's a great way cause corm rot.
Sorry if this is long or doesn’t make sense. I’m desperate to save my new plants. I’m really new to gardening and to be honest I am really bad at it but I really really want to be good at it. I did a lot of (apparently bad) research and recently purchased a white bird of paradise, blue plumbago and 2 lantana…. I live in AZ and all of them said they need full sun. I repotted them too soon apparently, by repotting right away. I have them in really large terra cotta pots outside. Originally had them all on dirt and mulch, direct sun for 6+ hours. They quickly got sunburn, flowers dropping off, so I got a 40% shade cloth and got that set up over them. I was also only watering if the soil was dry 2-3 inches down, so not overwatering. They are all raised on planter feet. They were still struggling with sunburn and crispy leaves, so I was told to move them all to covered patio with direct light. I did that, and they looked better for 1 day, but then this morning I see spider mites on the lantana… I get the need oil today, but then find out that with AZ temp about 90• (it’s July, of course it is) the heat will scorch the leaves even without sun if I put been oil on it. All of this is going on, and at the same time I notice my bird has leaves dropping and not becoming more erect. There’s a new shoot, but the other leaves not doing great has me worried. I repotted them all 6/24 if that helps. Also the soil stays moist way longer than I expected it would but I’m being told that’s normal. I’ve been following Planta advice now for a few days and it doesn’t look like they’re improving. Any suggestions or tips on helping these guys live? Photos of when I first got them to current for plumbago and bird.
Okay so want to start getting into air plants! They look so cool, and are gorgeous. Was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions on where to start? Just wondering because I got an air plant as a gift and managed to kill it 😞🙃 I heard they were supposed to be easy lol! Thank you!
I was at my grocery store plant department looking for a baby to bring home. When I went to pick one from the back of the row I lifted it up to my face to inspect it and what do you know. This little guy was staring back at me. (Had to evict him, so I could bring my plant home- he was safely sent off to live among the other plants) 😄
Transferred to soil I hope I did good it’s a chunky soil as well. 🪴🌱😅♥️
My holiday cactus, I think thanksgiving I'm not sure. Are so wide! They are throwing out new leaves and bloom all winter long they are just growing out wide, is this how they are meant to look? Should I be pruning them? It's hard to find spaces for them to fit with the rest of my plants due to their awkward shape.
Hi everyone! I could really use some help with my Alocasia Polly. 🥺 I repotted her two weeks ago, and since then she’s been declining. Leaves that were once firm are now drooping, even the larger ones, and some are turning yellow. I also moved her indoors due to the Florida heat. She’s now under a grow light with bright indirect light. I’m not sure if this is transplant shock, watering issues, lighting, or something with the roots. Has anyone experienced this? Any advice would mean a lot. Thank you! 💚
Hello everyone! 😊 I’m a new plant mom and have completely fallen in love with this hobby. I’ve been scrolling through everyone’s beautiful plants and reading your stories, and it’s been so inspiring! I’d love to learn from all of you. If you could recommend one indoor plant that’s beginner-friendly and forgiving, what would it be and why? I’m excited to keep learning and can’t wait to grow my little plant family. 🌿💚

Dark bathroom plant recommendations? The bathroom does have a wi dow but we have a film on the window to keep the neighbors from getting a free view if you know what I mean….. Any recommendations for a low light plant that looks good as a hanging plant?
Is this ready for chunky soil?
Today I am expecting my first live plants in the mail! Does anyone have any tips or tricks for acclimating and supporting these plants after unboxing? I am receiving an Aglaonema pictum tricolor, a 3” monstera bulbasaur, and a 3” monstera tricolor. TIA!
Can anyone tell me how to change the location for my weather? I can’t seem to figure it out! (Picture for attention)
Every time I follow your instructions for certain succulents they end up dead. As long as I don’t water them as suggested by you they live. I am so disappointed
Getting back into gardening again! 🪴 Plants have been an amazing mindfulness activity after losing two pets to cancer in the last year 🕊️
Does anyone know the name for the sweet potato vine “red hawk” on Planta? I’m not finding the variety to add to “My plants” at all.
