So i have a few props in a cabinet that i have waited a lil to long to put on moss pole aka lime pothos and a few others. But I want to know if i clip the aerial root back so i can get it on the pole properly. Will the roots grow back and go into the pole or should I just leave the long wild aerial roots to find their way or just dry up. Ps it’s not normally dark in that cabinet I turned the light off so there wasn’t glare.

About grow lights Hello all! So I got a couple grow lights from Amazon. They are full spectrum and have both timing and dimming options. idk how many hours, which brightness, or how close to my plants to them. I plan on putting my zygocactus (false Christmas cactus) and African violet under one and possibly my ruby ficus under another. The former are what I’m most concerned about, I’d like them to keep flowering, but have had to keep them on a cold window sill to get nearly enough light up until now (hence the grow light). Any advice on how to best use these in general and w/ my particular plants would be greatly appreciated!

I have had a continual battle with black spot, and have been using a neem oil spray, and on occasion, a copper fungicide, to treat these diseases. Recently, I’ve heard that neem is not a great treatment as a fungicide; I am hearing that copper fungicide is only a little better. I know there are other stronger fungicides out there, but I can’t find one that’s safe to use in the home with pets and children. Can anybody recommend a sure fire method to get rid of this darn fungus? TIA. 🤗💚🪴

Would you repot this plant? I hear a lot about leaving plants alone in the winter so I wanted to see - would you repot her? Tips are welcome and appreciated!!!

Hello All and HNY! Can you please advise if you compose banana peel or make banana peel tea for your indoor plants and outdoor gardens. What were the results? Do you use the tea along with “appropriate” fertilizer? I just read an article and I am curious. I live in 6b state and have loamy sand ( which dries out quickly). TY!

Hey plant friends! Does anyone have suggests of how I can frost proof these plants without moving them inside?

A moment of silence for the fallen 🫡 I didn’t have the energy to figure out what your problem was or didn’t see the pests until it was too late

What do you all think about self-watering pots for African Violets? The ceramic type that supposedly only absorbs what it needs. Anyone had success using one? If so, do you keep it full of water all the time or only put in a bit on watering days?

What is this stuff? It must be this season, because all my ficus, of which I have five, have been dropping leaves recently. I’m guessing it’s just that time of year, because this has happened in the past. But this is new. Is it some kind of edema? Whatever it is, it’s making me nervous! TIA… 🤗💚🪴

Repotting HELP! I repotted my bella palm about a month ago from this nursery pot to a plastic green pot (Measurements shown). !!! Was this too big of an upsize? And is it too late to put it into a smaller ceramic pot if so?

Hello everyone! I recently got this Ruby Rubber Plant from the clearance section, one of the leafs is damaged as seen in the photo below. Should I keep this leaf or cut it off? Thanks!

I love a good winter with lots of snow, but I'm way too pumped for this coming spring! So what are y'all most excited for next season? I'll go first: I buy those herb containers at the store (basil, rosemary, sage, and chives), but only really use a couple leaves before the rest turn brown. It's about time I have my own herb garden!

Hey plant friends :). So this is my miniature pine tree,, she is looking very sad. I asked plant dr and he’s saying I may have overwatered her so I am going to offer her more light and skip the next watering.. my question to you all is, would you cut the growth off to produce new growth and healthier leaves or should I just prune the dead leaves and leave it alone? Thanks!!

What plant would you recommend for this room? I’m looking for a tall-ish plant (like hip to chest height) that doesn’t mind shade, for on the right of the room. It is a north facing window that receives partial bright light but this is obviously lessened further into the room you get. It will be about 2 meters from the window. (Photos taken early afternoon)

What is the one plant in your collection that you regret getting? I’ll start: Bonnie curly Spider Plant. She looks pretty, but not only do I have frequent brown tips, but she is so dense at the base with all the curls, it’s impossible to see where you are watering and trying to clean dead leaves out.

Will a ZZ plant grow here? This is an east facing window but close to another house so shaded light and no direct light.

Back when I first got into a bit ‘harder’ plants, I bought one of these and it immediately kneeled over and died (I didn’t know what I was doing with it). Never did it ‘pray’ (where the leaves go up at night) even once. Fast forward to now after having more experience with calatheas, alocasias, etc, I bought another yesterday and in the day, it progressively got droopier which I worried about but now that the sun has set and the lights have come off, the leaves are coming up again! It’s praying - it’s alive!!!! I just hope it stays alive lol. ‘Prayer plant’ for all the prayers that it stays alive.
