I’m not entirely sure why kind of plant this is, but it has these little bug looking things on it. Will these harm the plant? Do I need to get rid of them? If so, how?

Does anyone have any tips to stop a cat nibbling on plants? All the ones that are poisonous are out of reach but I fear that now she’s had a taste this will never end! Pic is of rubber tree that she tried once and decided it wasn’t tasty- can I put something on my other plants that will deter?

Hiya, this plant was given to me as a gift, I am wanting to learn how to look after it properly as a beginner! Would anybody be able to help me identify what type of bonsai it is? Thanks ☺️ 🪴

Hi everyone! I need a little help. My swiss cheese monstera named Remy here has been doing great but one stem has really decided to have a mind of its own and has now grown about a foot and a half outwards within the past couple of months. The rest of the plant has also grown since I’ve gotten it but not nearly as much as that one arm lol Is there any way I can cut it without harming my plant or can I propagate it to replant? I’ve never propagated or trimmed any of my other plants before so any advice helps! Thank you!

Hi friends! So I live in brevard county in Florida and I know it’s a far reach but does anyone know of places in the area to search for specialty plants. I plan to go on a search tomorrow for the two I have been desperately wanting. Aka any type of Hoya and a tortum philodendron. I’ve searched high and low at my local Home Depot and Lowe’s cause I keep seeing videos of people finding them at these places. (Before any rude comments… I am asking for request because I have really bad anxiety so going to new places sometimes isn’t a reality)

We had to move to help care for my mother-in-law, so my plants all need to be squished into one room. We have East facing windows, but most are blocked by the couch. I bought these two tension rod plant poles - think this will be enough light? I also have two low watt grow lights in there for extra measure…

I just set up a moss pole for my larger monstera, and it’s already looking neater and less unwieldy. I’m hoping Frida will grow some bigger leaves now that she has a little support.

Hello! I’m new to planting and I wanted to ask about wildflowers. I’ve recently acquired wildflower seeds and I wanted to know how to care for them properly and make sure I can handle it since I didn’t see them on this app when I tried searching! So if anyone can help me out I’d really appreciate it.

I’m looking to get into owning plants/gardening! I’d like to start off with beginner plants; any recommendations?

Recently purchased this sansevieria in a 10 in pot from Home Depot. There appears to be 4 “bunches”. Would you recommend separating each into their pots?

My Passionfruit vine. I hand pollinated each flower and have about 18 passion fruit that are just starting to ripen.

I just bought this from Lowe’s a few days ago and lost the tag. I can’t remember what this is, but I remember it was not a pothos, even though it kind of looks like it. The stalk is red and the leaves feel a little hard and thick. Planta is identifying it as pothos. Any ideas? Thanks:)

Hey everyone, I need help! I finally repotted my Monstera!!! And I used a clay pot with a drainage hole. A few concerns?!!!??? I googled that I don’t really need the drainage hole, has anyone experienced this???? If so what can use to close it up?? I’m asking because after I watered it, I now have a little water in the catcher and it’s making me nervous, Only because The clay pot is too big and heavy for the plant stand I have.. I have to purchase a new one. so at the moment it’s sitting in a chair, and I don’t want it to spill over!!! Does anyone have any suggestions?!???

I just bought this ficus that was unmarked. Searching on Planta, it looks like it could be ficus altissimo, pertusa, aurea, or Banyan Fig ‘audrey’. Does anyone know how you can tell the difference?

Just wanted to share my plant’s glow-up. With some research, small changes and a little time, she is a new plant ❤️

I've had this guy propogating in a jar for a few months and all of his roots are darkish (why is that by the way?) but most importantly, THIS ONE IS BONE WHITE! Why is it bone white while the others are dark? (The plant and roots feel healthy. EPSECIALLY the white one is strong as hell. Very firm bone white root. This guy has only ever grown in water. All of the roots have never touched dirt. So why are the roots dark (not mushy) except for this bone white root? It's fascinating to me, but I must know - why is it so white???
