The first pic is a current picture of my $18 clearance plant I got about 6 months ago from Target and I’ve been obsessed with her. So I couldn’t help myself when I found this vibrant beauty at Lowe’s yesterday!! 🥹 I cut a LOT of leaves off that were dead looking to make room for growth 🥰 can’t wait to watch her become like the first picture! I have full hope in her.

Hi! I was gifted a flaming katy that lives in my kitchen, it gets sun in the afternoon / evening. The leaves have always looked a bit holey and have brown sections - can I help them in any way?

I have a couple corms that are just starting to sprout little roots. I see people starting them in stratum and perlite. Is that the best way to start? What’s next and when?

Does anybody know why the tops of my string of pearls is shriveling? I cut a bunch off and repotted the healthy ends. Does it need more light?

Here's an update My snake plant is blooming or something! It started with a stem i saw growing to this now. I had no idea they did this

Growth Question: I have a nepenthes dyeriana that’s put out two new leaves within the past month, but the pitchers aren’t growing. I can see they are formed, but they are staying immature, and the most recent leaf is starting to fold like a taco. I’m thinking I’m low on light or humidity. It’s in my shower with a humidifier as well, so I don’t think it ever dips below 70%. As for light, it’s about a foot away from a 24 watt full spectrum light, and gets 12 hours of light a day.

Got a question for the avid gardeners on here. What’s the best thing/method to get pollen stains out of white shirts? Made the mistake of checking out the new blooms in my raised bed of lilies and now I’ve got bright orange pollen on my sleeves. 😅 Thanks in advance for any help in getting them out. Don’t wanna risk setting the stain on this one. It’s kinda my favorite shirt.

Update on our 1st Hibiscus🌺

***UPDATE*** I went to Johnsons Garden Center and spoke with them about the situation with my beautiful monstera. He recommended soaking her in peroxide for 15 minutes and let it foam up and then rinse off. It worked perfectly no more smell or anything. I am putting her in lecca for now and see how she does.🙏 Thank you everyone for all of your recommendations! Needing help! I am fairly new to the plant world and need help! I have purchased a 26” tall Thai Constellation that was grown completely in an hydro/aquarium environment. Her aquarium broke and she had to rehome this Thai plant. She said that I can keep it in water or transfer it to soil (my preferred method is soil). However, the water HAS to be changed out every 3 days max. I can not even describe how disgusting the smell is and the slim build-up after 3 days.🤮 I did cut off the softer, longer roots. Can I cut off the root mass hanging on? Or will that kill the plant? It is only one plant and can not be split up. She has at least 7-8 new ones starting to show. The leaves are absolutely huge and gorgeous, hence why I wanted her so bad. Can anyone offer recommendations on transferring her to soil or a better way to keep her in water without having an aquarium? Thank you for any help you can provide.💚🍃🪴

Was feeling a bit cheeky 🤭 and stopped at my local Squires garden centre and bought a couple of Rex begonias… and some terrariums 😭✨ Absolute love them! Now I know begonias aren’t really “full terrarium plants,” but I just couldn’t resist. I’m not even that into begonias normally — I’ve only got one in my collection (the maculata* 👀) — but once I saw these little beauties I literally couldn’t pass up the opportunity for my experiment 🌿💚 I’ve been really into terrariums lately but never actually had the chance to properly make one, so my impulses definitely got the best of me… and I splurged 😅💸 (side note: why are big empty glass containers SO expensive?? Who knew?!) But honestly, I loved it. Getting my hands dirty and creating a little world of my own felt so satisfying 🪴✨ I even added some Smiskis in for decor so at night they glow and just sit there looking cute as anything 🥹🌙 My maintenance plan for now is basically: • wiping off excess condensation 💧 • airing out the cork terrariums every now and then 🌬️ But I just love them already!! I even popped in a few corms and my dormant anthurium (no clue what type tbh 😭). Two of the corms did go mouldy 😬 but honestly I’m not too bothered — I’ve moved on from my alocasia madness anyway, it was more of an experiment than anything. And the BEST bit — my dormant anthurium/corm thingy has gone all green!! 💚 so I know she’s coming back to life, which is so exciting!! I chose begonias mainly because I find just moss + fittonias a bit boring (sorry 😭 unpopular opinion I know). I just don’t find fittonias cute at all 🫣 BUT a fern… now THAT I could get behind 🌿✨ I just didn’t manage to find any at my garden centre this time. Anyway!! Please enjoy the mental plant chaos and feel free to drop any tips, advice, or other plant ideas I could use in a terrarium 🥰🪴💫
