Hey lovelies I just got my first fiddle leaf fig from Marketplace. It looks like it has some really healthy leaves, but I know they’re temperamental so checking in here to improve my odds. 1) it kinda looks like it’s in a pot that’s too big? It looks so tiny in this huge pot - would it maybe like to be a bit more snug? 2) I see a lot of brown spots and brown veins-like on the middle newest leaf. Is this some kind of sickness? Any advice? 3) it is definitely dusty - best experience for cleaning these? Thank you!! 🙏🏻 🪴
Has anyone tried growing their alocasia in water? I’ve been reading and watching a bunch of videos using pon and leca, but im curious how well it would grow just in water and what that growing process is like. I might want to try it with one of mine this week.
New growth ✨🌱 I’m so excited 😊
Help! I’ve had this air plant for about 4 months and when I was watering it last I realized that there was hot glue still on the bulb😭 I removed it and now it’s just struggling. I hope it’s not too late. Any tips or help appreciated!!!
My Cara Cara orange tree is blooming! Any tips on hand pollinating the flowers?
does anybody know what caused my blooms to have a green tent?
New buys for today Baby Callisia Wandering Jew prop Soil Food
Has anyone ever grown succulents before?? I found this BEAUTIFUL succulent online, looked it up and of course found myself on Etsy and saw someone was selling the seeds. Wondering if it’s any harder or easier than planting veggies (which I’ve never been overly successful with lmao)
Hi all. Planta keeps sending reminders to mist all of my plants. I understand that this may not be necessary. Any thoughts?
planta tells me i need to repot today. the pot i have it in now is 6 1/2 inches. should i size up to 7 inches or 7 1/2 inches?
So everyone meet Blueberry my new Blue Baltic Pothos! I also downsized pots as well since all of these guys like to be snug! I mixed the indoor mix with orchid bark and perlite to make my own tropical mix! Let’s hope root rot is not a problem for me anymore!
does anyone think this is okay to repot - my original plant has root rot. Or should i put it in water?
why is this happening
Hello, this is my Tradescantia fluminensis 'Albovittata' aka wandering dude. The picture with the pink sleeves on the plants was a picture of her at the store, leaves sturdy and lively. After I brought her home, I’ve been watering once a week all the way through as the app says. She started becoming droopy and so I repotted thinking that maybe she needs space. (The picture at night is how she looked after that. I also gave her chop sticks to prop herself up on so her roots didn’t pull out of the soft soil via gravity). The other two pictures are today. My boyfriend knocked her over but I don’t think that’s the culprit as to why she’s looking so sad. I keep pruning off her browning leaves but now she’s getting spots on her stem. I have misted her once as directed by the app. I’m thinking underwatering? The app diagnostics says overwatering. HELP. I’ve never had a plant before and don’t know what I’m doing
What is this? At first glance I thought it was just dust (I haven’t polished my plants leaves in a while) but I want to make sure it isn’t anything I should be worried about. Checked my other plants in the sill and none have anything like this on the undersides of their leaves. The wisps make me think spider mites???
Can anyone help? I got this golden pothos a few days ago and the stems look extremely brown and feel so weak? What’s happening??
I fell in love with African violets and I was even more stoked when I found out they were easier plants to take care of. I bought two in the beginning and planted them together. One died completely and the flowers on the other died pretty quickly and the leaves are starting to get ugly. ANY help or advice is much appreciated ❤️❤️
Hi all! I’m attempting to rescue a raven zz plant that I found at Lowe’s that was suffering from root rot in a self watering planter. I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on self watering planters, and I’d say to only use those for plants that want to stay moist. The zz I’m attempting to save had lost almost all of its tubers to rot. If anyone has any tips or tricks for propagating, and appreciate it! I’m probably going to try a couple of methods with the stems and leaves I was able to save. I also got one good intact tuber. Also, does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with the root rot? One of the tubers looks like it *may* have a small spot where the rot was starting, but hasn’t really spread. The tuber feels firm except for that spot. I’m going to let it dry out and try to propagate it separately, but am unsure if there is any sort of ‘treatment’ or if I just have to wait and see. Thanks!
Need an Id on this plant from an arrangement. Almost looks like a coffee plant, but google lens is saying it’s Ardisia elliptica. Any thoughts ?
