I have had this little white wizard starter plant (x2) since May 12th. Are they very slow growers or am I doing something wrong? Maybe the pot is too big and they’re scared to branch out? I fertilize according to Planta schedule.. water accordingly as well if my meter agrees. All my windows have indirect light so for part of the day I turn on my version of grow lights (grow light bulbs in table lamps) … any wizardry advice!

I just snagged a White Ice Princess philodendron from Kroger. Apparently it is a combination of a White Knight and a Pink Princess philodendron. Apparently that means that along with white variegated leaves, there’s a chance for pink variegated leaves as well. Let’s see! If you have a Kroger near you, keep an eye out!

Just took a trip to Lowe’s to check out the plants, came home with these two- left is labeled assorted foliage and ID says Pothos’ n Joy, the one on right is a Manjula Pothos, I’m no root expert but both of these babies look like they need bigger pots, right??

Hi everyone! I made my own tropical mix but the only potting soil that was available had fertilizer in it. My “recipe” is two parts potting soil, two parts orchid bark, 1 part perlite, and a bit of horticultural charcoal and mosquito bits. Should I fertilize since it’s not straight potting soil? I don’t want to over fertilize it either. I use General Hydroponics Flora Series liquid fertilizers for my plants that are in leca.

Hi my name is Jeaniene and I’m new to this group. I live in Texas near Dallas, what are the best blooming Perennials to plant that Would do well in pots? Thank you everyone!

What’s your favorite rare or uncommon variations? I have become very fond of propagating from rare or uncommon variations. I love the fact that they are uncommon, and usually consist of added colors like white pink and so forth, but I also really enjoy the thrill of seeing them sprout roots and grow from just a piece of the mother plant. It’s rewarding and fun. So tell me, what’s your favorite rare or uncommon variation of any type of plant?

Can anyone relate? I have this constant conundrum. Out of my 250 plants, about 2/3 of them are outside. I am practically on a daily basis, trying to assess if my plants have spider mites, or just have been blessed by a friendly spider of a million varieties making a web near my plant leaves and beneficially eating the bad bugs. Every single time I see the webbing I freak out and think it’s spider mites but upon closer inspection and assessment realize 99% of the time that it’s a different type of fine webbing that looks very similar to spider mites, but isn’t. Do you all experienced this and is there a good way to determine the difference between the types of webbing? I have yet to see a single actual spider mite bug on any of my plants and have been doing preventative care for some of them (specifically, indoor Calathea’s and Alocasia’s) but still just don’t know if I’ve actually ever had them. Maybe I have it everywhere and just think it’s other spiders or maybe I’ve just never had them and I’m paranoid. 🤷🏻‍♀️ PS I LOVE spiders. So i’m not into killing them. I will however break there webs up cause i know they can rebuild.

Hi have another question for the group. I am according to this app hopeless when it comes to plants. So please excuse the elementary questions. Does yellow leaves on a indoor plant mean it’s been over or under watered? Thank you.

I just looked at the roots of my lemon button fern. 😶 Apparently, it was grown in some kind of fabric. Not fabric with soil—just fabric all the way through. I did my best to break it away without doing too much damage, but I doubt this one will recover.

Does anyone else feel like having Alocasia’s is a lot like having bunnies or rat pets? You start with 6 or 7 and suddenly you have like 50 with all the corm babies it makes! 😳🫣

Hello! I’m trying to figure out what this little thing is on my Lily, I haven’t had any flowers on it and it doesn’t quite look like a bud, does anyone recognize what it may be?

What is everyone’s most rewarding plant? I interpret this as the plant that always has new growth/is sizing up/impressing you/thriving in your home. I reorganized my plant shelf yesterday! But kinda ended up liking it less this way 🫠

Is there anything I should look for or avoid when buying support stakes? I see a lot of moss covered but also bamboo… does material matter or am I overthinking it? 😂

Any good fertilizer recommendations?

I think my Alocasia silver dragon is going to bloom?? Does anyone have experience with Alocasia blooms and if I should cut it off to preserve the plants energy and resources? Does it risk the plant surviving to keep it?
