What are some cool pot decorations you have? Here are some of my favorites. :)
Anyone else prefer purchasing baby plants to watch them grow and flourish into full size? I honestly prefer it because it makes me feel more accomplished in growing my plants! Also I’ve heard that you can prop a string of turtles with just the leaves? I’ve been trying to prop this one still attached to its stem but I haven’t had any roots. Should I take off the leaves or keep it as is? Any other tips are welcome :)
Hey guys I am not really experienced with knowing when my plants need repotted so I wanted to know if you guys thing this peace Lilly should be repotted
What a difference a week makes.. any ideas on what’s happening to my golden goddess? She arrived 7 days ago and I repotted to terracotta pot with drainage and watered, created her Planta profile. Scheduled watering is today yet look at the leaves? All but 3 have yellow and/or brown spots. Even incoming new growth 😱😭😫kept in room with humidifier and indirect sunlight. My lamps have grown lightbulbs I use in the mornings and she is on the other side of the room..what to do??
Talked my husband into going to the nursery with me and told him I only wanted to spend $50. Needless to say, we spent way more than that! I picked out this beautiful Philodendron Silver Sword, but I didn’t not pick out the 2 cacti or pots 🙊 maybe I can sway him into being a plant person after all 🤷🏼♀️
a few weeks ago i bought a plant at ikea based on pure gut choice. it was a birds of paradise (BOP). my only experience with plants is succulents and philodendron brasil. ive killed a dracaena and a spider plant :/. this app said it was "hopeless" (apps words not mine 😭) on my skill level to take care of it. but ive learned from many mistakes and a variety of plant owners on tiktok and on here and google searching solutions. trial and error has allowed me to learn, like every plant owner. about a week and a half ago, i noticed my bop had a new leaf sprouting and monitored it. couple days later learned they get STUCK and sometimes need help by rubbing them off (not the term used in the educational video i found 😂) so ive been helping it slowly everyday for a couple of minutes by, quite literally, rubbing it off. tonight, the leaf has started to unfurl !! take that planta app !!
does anyone know what kind of begonia this is? my plant id apps aren’t identifying it right! (ignore the african violet props sharing the bottle)
My plant is doing so great!
Success!!!!
Hey y’all do you thing this thing will survive? It’s a baby spider plant and all the leaves dropped of I just switched it to water
i was gifted a spider plant this past Christmas, and it has progressed way more than any of my other plants this summer (i’m using an old bromeliad pot and the stick thing in the middle is attached lol. turns out young inexperienced me didn’t realize there were air plants on it and they died-)
Can anyone tell me how to save this philodendron? I repotted it because I was afraid I overwatered it, but it is still looking very bleak. The leaves are continuing to yellow and fall off. TIA!
It was recently asked of me by a fellow community member here, that if I had any references on you-tubers or tutorials, to send them. I have watched probably thousands of hours of planty content over last few years, so the channels I am recommending are just my top favorite and more useful/informative. You may want to copy paste this in your notes to reference later when a problem arrises, since our posts are not saved here anywhere yet. So heres my list! Happy learning! Enjoy! ———— You Tube Channels I follow: • Nick Alexander (comedic science & history plant facts) • Aloha Plant Life (all things houseplants… slightly dramatic at times lol) • youdontevengrowhere (Anthurium & Pon specialist) • Houseplanty Goodness (Quirky Aroids) • Plant Friend Down The Street (Sassy Aroids) • Everything Plants (Geeky/science houseplants) • Summer Rayne Oakes (specific plant details and collector & garden tours) • House Plant Journal (science plants, lighting focus) • Plants of Joy (Calatheas & tropicals) • Leafing Around (Malaysia tropical garden designer & spectacular tours) • MissOrchidGirl (orchid specialist)

This is my prayer plant named Peep, I never knew she was root bound so I did I repot because she was dying. Now look!! She has new leaves! :D This isn’t the entire plant btw. I also propped some of her stems, they rooted!
